Adoptuskids is a national site for children in foster care who have been legally freed for adoption. Most of these children are in desperate need of a good and loving home due to severe abuse or neglect or because of medical conditions that require intensive care. The majority of these children are older or part of a sibling group which should be adopted together.

Your chances of finding a baby on this site are slim to none. The younger children listed there tend to have serious health issues which will require the adoptive family to be prepared to handle.

Some of the children listed on this site come with stipends to help pay for their care.

I have never heard of anyone having "troubles" with adoptuskids as I believe that the individual cases are handled through the social services programs where the kids are living. (One of my former GAL clients was one of these kids. She was adopted at 17 to a wonderful home and just wrote to me that she is getting her CNA certificate and is engaged with a little one on the way! I am so happy for her!!!)

I have the utmost respect and gratitide for anyone who provides a loving and healthy home for these children. I urge you to consider adopting an older child. Earning the love of an older child is IMO one of the most noble undertakings an AP can do and from what I have witnessed, one of the most rewarding.

Best of luck to you!

This is a wonderful site and yes these children are all legally free for adoption or rights will be terminated upon identification of an adoptive family.

Just do not let anyone convince you to adopt out of birth order. For example if you have a twelve year old child you should not adopt a child over the age of twelve.

And as an adoptive mother myself I urge you to read as many books as you can about adoption from the perspective of the adoptee.

It's a very reputable website. It's not an agency of its own but works with state and private agencies to help kids who are seeking forever families to be matched up with parents. :)

I hope this helps!
