foster care. it's free.

Adopting through foster care is free in most states, and very low cost in others. Your income doesn't matter as long as you are able to pay your bills. You need to go through the homestudy process, which is pretty extensive. The qualifications are not what they should be. As it stands now, the qualifications consist of being able to pay your bills, having a stable home, and being able to show that you're a good person. The qualifications should consist of the above, along with being able to show an extensive knowledge and personal understanding of adoption loss, along with far, far more thorough background checks. People shouldn't just "look" good on paper - they should have to prove that they ARE good, in real life. Too many adoptees are abused.

I adopted my eldest son, and it cost me only the $3.00 fee for a probate record check (to make sure I had no "issues" in my background). Of course, people who go through private agencies have to pay thousands of dollars. Although adoption screenings can miss something at times, in general, you do have to be qualified in terms of passing the screening. They want to know you seem to be of good mental and emotional health, can provide a stable home, and have a certain amount of knowledge about being a parent.

In my state there are adoption subsidies for people who want to adopt a child through the state but may need assistance. They still have to pass the screening otherwise, but especially for special needs children, there can be a subsidy if someone's income is below a certain level.

friends R gifts we give ourself
we adopted my sisters daughter after her death. we had to go through all kinds of steps. and tons of paper work. of course she was already 3yrs old. we had to make sure no one in my brother in laws family wanted her too. then no one in our family. we had to do a back ground check, and they wanted to know how much we made. and our house had a million pictures taken of it. but it was also an adoption from Hawaii where they lived and Pennsylvania where we lived so we had extra steps since deaths were involved, i think if it's a newborn you have to pay for all the medical bills. good luck.

In most states foster care to adopt is free. You are not guaranteed a 'Baby' but you can show a child love, friendship, stability that he/she needs. Please foster to adopt. Foster care.
