Your adoptive family and your first family?
In converstions we have been finding more anf more things in common within our families. Things like they also have a farming and rural background starting with their parents... my DH and their birth dad both have strong German/Irish in their families. Additional Details True Sunny families can be complete opposites.

my brother and I are both adopted, no DNA ties to each other...and funny as we grew up we look exactly alike...and like our adoptive parents.....we really look like DNA sharing family, same distinct nose.....it makes me laugh when people say oh you look just like your brother or your mum...haha...and my daughter looks like my grandmum (adoptive) isn't life funny! blessings |

They are both proud of their heritage. A family is Italian, N family is Irish, which means I like to drink. |

Oh, lots. I have adopted family and natural family buried in the same pioneer cemetery three states away 120 years before my birth. My families have more similarities than differences. My adoptive family has a Quaker line, and my natural family has an Amish line. Outside of that, it's pretty much exactly the same.
Wow, I'm feeling like the Lone Ranger on this one! There were even marriages between the families. My parents and I aren't blood relatives, but we have distant cousins in common. Apparently, this doesn't happen to just everyone? Many people I knew as a child were my shirt-tail cousins. I just had no way of knowing this until I found my natural family. |

Yes, between my nfather and my dads... yes, there's some similarities. Between my mother and my parents... no, none.
My nFather (+my step-mom) and my adoptive parents all have strong drives to succeed, like the outdoors, and think that being parents is their most important priority, so in that way they're very similar, despite my nFather and step-mom being raised here in Washington, and my aparents coming from England and Ireland, respectively. They've all done well for themselves but live humbly.
One of my dads and my biological father are both Civil War buffs, despite my dad's european background. They never stop talking about it at family dinners, to the chagrin of the rest of us. My stepmom and I have to steer them away from the topic once they start talking about primitive amputation attempts, lest we all lose our appetite. |

No similarities between my daughter's adopters and me (thank god). They like to take babies from vulnerable young women, I prefer to keep mothers and babies in tact. They are real clothes 'label' concious, I couldn't care less... they are more selfish in that they don't really care how my daughter feels about her adoption... I do care. Yes we have some major differences. They are people I will always aspire to be the complete opposite of. |

I actually have more in common with my adoptive family, I get certain likes from my biological family but, politically, socially, morals and so forth are opposite of my biological family.
The two families are completely different, but I have nothing to do with my biological family, horror of a reunion. |

My daughter is only three, so time will tell, but I think it is pretty cool that we both share a Cherokee Indian background. |

I am a lot like my adoptive family. One of the bones of contention in my reunion is that my bio mom and I have nothing in common. Our personalities are just so different. We approach life from different outlooks. My family (adoptive) shares the same dry, sarcastic, witty sense of humour, while my bio mom and her family seem so bland. Though maybe they are just guarded with me around. We do have a heritage in common though. Both my adoptive and bio families have a Scottish heritage. My mom, bio mom and myself all have red hair. |

I doubt there are many similarities other than possibly temperament since their lifestyles are most likely very different since they both come from such very different cultures. |

Bio mom and a mom were so completely different! |
