Not sure what you've tried so far. I would start here: http://www.intelius.com/. You can get quite a bit of info for free. Or just a white pages search: http://www.whitepages.com/

You should register with the ISSR: http://www.isrr.net/

If your adoption was done through an agency, contact them. If it was done through the state, as mine was...You should go to the courthouse of the county you were adopted TO and see if they have your records. Maybe you've already done this...

Another thing is to check all the on line reunion registries. Do a search for "adoption reunion" and look to see if any of your relatives show up. Also, register with them--I'd be careful about how much identifying information you give out.

Finally, hire someone to find them. I do believe some adoption agencies (and possibly state's social services) employ people that help adoptees reunite. Or, a private investigator. Good luck to you in your search.

Along with the suggestions of the first poster, which are good, I'd like to run this through ancestry.com. They've got a lot of databases, and I have a paid subscription. I could use a little more information, as I'm finding multiple possibilities. Do you know ages of your parents when you were born? Were your parents married and if so, did your mother use your father's last name or something different? If you'd rather not post the info, you email me, if you'd like, from my user page.

Wow... well you have more information than most adoptees are given to start their search.
I would start by registering on www.adoption.org it has a free registery.
Second, you must know where you were born. Get a phone book. Look up all the MAYS and start calling. Chances are they had some sort of family in the area that will know where one of them is.
That's exactly how I did it. I too knew my birth last name & knew I was born in toronto, ontario.... so I started calling every single person with that last name in toronto.
I said something to the effects of this...
Hi... my name is Lisa (my real name) I was born in toronto on this date, and was adopted in this year I have reason to believe that this was my birth last name and was wondering if you might have any information that might help me in my search for my birth family?
No body was rude, no body hung up on me. Either they said no I'm sorry I cant help you, or they gave me information on their family history.
Persistance pays off. After about fifty calls I went through my lil speil.... the man at the other end of the phone said....Well my name is Larry, I'm your uncle, you are my sisters daughter. Give me your phone number & I'll call her.
I'll never forget that day. My search was over. It's been ten years since I found my family.
Try it... what have you got to lose? It worked for me. I did my own search at a cost of under fifty dollars (long distance phone calls) and the reward was price less
