Try to find out as much as you can about your past, place of birth, where birth registered, hospital born at etc as there may be some records at those places. Social work dept in that area should have records as well. |

I assume that you have your original Birth Certificate and that you have received Social Services Counselling?
Your B.C. will give your Mother's surname at the time of your birth, which she may have still. Assume that she has married and changed her name - you will need to search for a marriage and a possible new surname. Then you could try www.192.com to see if she has a listed phone number.
You could try Friends Reunited - there are about half a dozen guys who spend their time trying to find friends and family for people. You could try www.Gonemissing.co.uk
You could give us more details, like her name and possible area of the Country by editing your question. There are quite a few people out here with copies of the Electoral Roll. |

i am an adopted child who found my birth mother i would love to help you but you have not given enough info, i am not asking your name or other personal info, but were you adopted from an agency, which state, how old were you, did your parents use a lawyer, do you know the hospital name, the town , there are plenty of tricky ways, were you baptized before adoption |

findmypast has all birth, marriage and death records for the UK. What info do you have on her? Was she married at the time of your birth? If she was, use the site for a reverse lookup of marriages in the area to find a maiden name. Was she possibly from another country?
If she was not from another country, look on findmypast for other possible siblings in the years surrounding her approx birth date in the same location and try to trace her that way. I helped a girl locate her birth mother because the brother still lived in the same town they were all born in.
Sorry, it looks like you're doing the right things. Keep looking, she's out there.
Good luck! |

Do you have your birth certificate?
If you dont, go to London and go to the national records office and search for yourself. You can then ask for a copy of your birth certificate. On this will be your mother's name and (hopefully) father's. You can then search your mother's birth certficiate and since you cant find much on your mother, it might be an idea to search for details on your grandparents or father. |

Two options...register with online adoption registries (as many of them as you can find) and also consider hiring a private investigator to track down more info. |

There is a national agency you can track online called Alma. Also, try the Adoption Network. Check it out, hope it will help. |

If you are in the UK you could try using Tracesmart - this is how my birth sister found me - I was adopted at birth. There is a fee, but you can do a rough search first to see if it comes up with anything.....hope this helps.
Good Luck x |

Try to get a hold of your orignal social security card. I am adopted and when my adopted mother went to the social security department they gave her a copy of my orignal social security number and my birth parents name as well as my orignal name. |

Maybe the library in the town you were born in has newspapers on microfilm? You could go and see if you can find your own birth announcement. |

Your have tried everything darling, sometimes you need to be content with what you have done so far. you need to move on with your life and let God take care of the rest. some people never get the opportunity to see their parents, you may be one of them. |
