Hi all: my name is kelly and i was born may 17th `1966 in desplaines illinois at cook county hospital... I have no history of my parents and all that i know is that they werent married to eachother and that i was given up for adoption right after i was born, but had to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks as i was born with a high fever ... can anyone help me or give me information on how to go about finding my birth parents or siblings....any and all replies will be appreciative... I am told by a brief history page that was sent to me by the illinois childrens society, when i turned 18yrs old, but like i said it was very brief... I do know that according to the papers i have my dad's last name as my first name... please look at this question and answer it if at all possible... god bless u and thank u so much...

Last year, I helped a family member find a child given up for adoption in 1961. We did it by posting on every available adoption registry. A few months later, her son started searching for his birth parents and found what we had posted right away.
Do a search for "adoption registries" and register everywhere, then say a little prayer.

I don't know if this would help you but try asking the adoption agency if they have any other records. or maybe the hospital you were born at might have info i am not sure they can give any names out. good luck sorry if i was not any help |

You don't mention your adoptive parents, but try asking them. If that's not possible, ask other family members for the possible whereabouts of your adoption papers. If you can get ahold of them, that's a WONDERFUL start. You can then contact the exact agency that did the adoption and get ahold of your birth parents records. I wish you the best of luck in your search. My mother was adopted and is, at the age of 53, trying to find out what her birth name was. It was changed when she was adopted. |

I would find out first if you're adopted parents renamed you or if you have your original name. Once you know your original name they should be able to trace that through the hospital. It would depend on the hospital's privacy policy but they may be able to help you. |

My mom was adopted and knew nothing either. She had to petition the court to get her records unsealed. It was a long fight but when she was 40 years old we finally found our blood family!!! Good luck you will be in my prayers. |
