How can I adopt my daughter's sister who was adopted by another family?

I adopted my daughter not too long ago and she is 13. I love her very much and don't have any other children and we have a very close relationship. She actually has a twin sister who was taken by another family. When I brought my daughter over to visit her twin sister I noticed that her sister always looks very sad and is very thin and has bruises on her body. She desperately wants to be back with my daughter/her sister and has said to me and her sister in private that they don't treat her well and have deliberately hurt her. She cries when her sister and I have to leave. How I could adopt my daughter's sister and get her away from this family who mistreats her?

First thing you need to do is call child services, human services, someone needs to be involved if this child is being abused. Keep on top of it, and be involved. Make SURE they check on her, keep calling until they do. Hopefully somethingw ould be done, if the child could be removed, you could say you are #1 for taking her, and you could go from there. Show your interest in adopting her. But make sure you do it the right way and your claims dont go unfounded. Has she specifically said who is abusing her, and how? It wont do an ounce of good to make false claims. If she talks to her sister, your daughter, ask her.....just make sure you express the interest in helping this girl, instead of just getting her available for your adoption interest.... |

If she is being abused your first concern should be getting help for her not trying to figure out how to adopt her. Call CPS IMMEDIATELY. Let them investigate. Then if they remove her from that environment let them know that you are willing to care for her.
Being unhappy doesn't necessarily mean she is being abused. What 13 year old is happy all the time. But if you believe she is being abused you must report it. |

I would contact child protection, address the concerns you have and if you can exaggerate them.
You need to contact a lawyer also.
It doesn't sound like she's happy at all, i think it's really sad that she was separated from her twin sister.
