The mother may have been in OR or WA or CA when she gave up the daughter. We live in CA.

Have your husband contact the agency or lawyer who facilitated the adoption. |

It really depends on where the child was given up. Laws are different everywhere. Try to get in touch with someone who knows where the baby was born, and start from there. Did your husband sign over rights? If not, the adoption may not be legal. If the mother knew who the father was, but kept the information secret, there is a chance that your husband could get in contact with the child.

Think about the best interest of the child.
Ask the mother, contact the agency, or attorney and since it's an open adoption ask for updates.
But try to think of the child. She is settled. She are with the people who love and have cared for her. She's home. |

You cannot find her- you have no rights. If the father signed over his rights (which he would have had to for the adoption to be legal) then he has no rights either.
If it is an open adoption, sometimes there is a clause that the adoptive parents will leave the current address or point of contact with the agency. Your husband can speak to them, but you will not be able to get that info. |
