How can I return a child I adopted?

I recently adopted a child hoping for a great start. However, it turns out that the kid is not all he was meant to be by agency.

First of they told us he is fun and nice to be around, I have yet to hear him make a joke yet alone make me laugh.

He has no manners, never cleans the dishes, or take the trash out. He always wants attention or needs feeding, yet he can't dish out anything.

He is far from bright, brought home a quiz, and with excitement showed it to me... I was dumbfounded to think he would consider a C+ something to be proud of, and I had to let him know that that is not good enough for the fridge. I'd be impressed if he made it as a manager at McDonald if u know what I mean.

What makes this so painful for me is that I am wasting my time and money on him. It just frustrates me, and I cant stand the sight of that thing anymore.

My question is can I return him or do I need a lawyer?

Just go back to the agency tell them your views on this child and how you feel towards him and you will not need lawyer. yours

You are repeating yourself. You asked this, um, question earlier this week.

My previous answers till stands. If you kept the receipt you can return him to the agency. If not, try Walmart. They will take back just about anything without a receipt. You may only get a store credit or a full gift card but at least you can get a new set of golf clubs outa the deal.

Then again, maybe Madonna would take him off your hands. I hear she is now looking again after being denied in Africa.

Im so sorry he's not working out for you. Its such a shame that some adoptive parents think the child will be "just like them". Try Craigslist, or maybe the Y!A regular who constantly trolls for kids will ask you to email her. She probably luuuurves McDonalds.

I'm assuming this is a joke, but if not, then call social services, explain everything you just said to the social worker, and then you won't have to worry about "giving him back", because I'm sure once they hear this he'll be removed from your home for HIS best interest. How you could ever pass a homestudy is beyond me, you're definetly not cut out to be a parent of ANY child.

You probably need a lawyer if you want your money back unless you got a receipt. Just keep your head up and don't give up hope. I'm sure there is a baby out there for you, maybe next time you will find one that isn't a total waste of skin.

And remember, there is more than one way to skin a cat. If the agency or birth mother refuse to reimburse you be creative. Does Nike still employ minors in sweatshops?

Your just not abusing your privilages as a new parent properly. make it take the trash out, make it clean the dishes and tell him he cant come out his room untill he is partial owner of Mcdonalds. The parents are to blame its not the child

Dude, that's messed up. Seriously, just because the kid is a little slow in the head or he didnt understand what was going on you tell him he's not good enough for the fridge?! No one said that parenting was easy and even when you birth a child they don't always turn out to be your dream child, but you love this child and try to teach him the right way of life.

Teach and love the child, maybe the adoption agency shouldn't have approved you to be a parent.
