Doesn't that deny them the chance to have siblings especially if they are seperated from their bio-siblings?

I think a lot of the time, people choose to adopt because they, themselves, are unable to have their own children for whatever reason.
There are also cases where they have children/have children AFTER they adopt the child.
My friend was an example, she was adopted, because her adoptive parents kept failing to have their own child. Yet, a year after she was adopted, her adoptive mum fell pregnant and she has a sister.
Also, whether you have siblings or not really depends on the family. I was an only child, and I wasn't adopted. I just never had siblings because after my mum had me, she couldn't have anymore children.
However, in this case, sometimes the natural parent(s) had the child at a really young age and at that time, were unable to fully care for the child then for whatever reason. At that time, they can only TRY and make the best choice for that moment. Whatever happens in the future is unknown.
Alternatively, if they already had a child and kept it, but chose to adopt the next child out, then I guess it's normal for the child to feel abandoned and unloved. However, that's a complicated situation that I feel I don't have the right to make a judgement about. |

Not all the time. We have one bio child then adopted one. |

Sometime the AP wants only one child. Sometimes it is in the best interest for the child to be an only child because they require more attention because of abuse or other factors. It varies from one child and family to the next because each child has their own individual needs. Foster care programs try and match the child with a family that best suits the child's needs. |

My brother, who is 6 years younger, was adopted so your statement/question is not necessarily true. |

Because more childless couples want to adopt. It's not as common for people who already have kids to adopt. It has nothing to do with the kids, it has to do with who wants them... someone who doesn't want to adopt obviously isn't going to adopt, whether they have kids or not.
I'd also like to point out that it is entirely possible for someone to adopt more than one child, or adopt and have their own. It's equally possible for a family to stop after having just one child. I guess I'm not sure why adoption is different? |

When we adopted our two children (who are siblings) the birth family chose us because there were no other children in our home (among other reasons). They interviewed another family that already had children and they desired for their children to be in a home where they could get the most love and attention. Right or wrong, that was their thinking. |

My son was placed with a couple who didn't have children then 20 months later their (bio) son was born so he was raised with a sibling. |

Most couples who adopt can't or don't want to have bio children. Many couples will also adopt again so that they will have siblings, or will adopt sibling groups if available. So until the second adoption, the child will be an only. This is true with bio kids as well.
People should not be allowed to adopt part of a sibling group, but they are. It is best for the children to stay together since they are all they have. But sometimes 1 or more children in the group maybe hard to place and the social worker decides that it is in the best interest of the remaining sibling(s) to be adopted without the "problematic" child.
When we adopted we already had kids so I guess we aren't the norm. |

well if they have bio-siblings, most likely theyll be placed with them, but if theyre not, they might see it as 'replacement' siblings, also if there arent any kids in the family, they get the most attention, and its a less stressful and loud environment. |

maybe they want the child to get the most attention as possible |

because kids are usually adopted because someone can't have kids. hence, there are usually no kids in the home.
ps. i agree with you. |
