How do i find my birth mother? i only know her name and birth date.?

How would i find my birth mother? I only have her name and birth date and where she is from. I don't want to offend my parents so if there is anyway i can at least see a picture or more information about her without them knowing, it would be great.

I was born in Croatia. How would i find my birth mother? I only have her name and birth date and some other little information about her. I don't feel comfortable discussing this with my parents, so if there is anyway i can contact her or get some more information about her or my siblings without them knowing, it would be great.

Your adoptive parents would (should) not be offended at all and they should assist you. You have every right to wonder about your birth mother, that is not something to be ashamed of, we all want to know where we came from. Talk to them, thay will understand and if they don't then they do not have your best interest at heart and do not deserve you.

My mom has been having the same problem as you.
Here's what you should do...
Contact the Adoption Agency were you were adopted from, and you should have a case worker, and they can give you all the information you need about your birth mother.
That's what my mom did, and it worked! :)
Good Luck!!

You can go to:

Shea's Adopitons Search
www.plumsite.com/shea/series.html

or

Tina's Adoption Search And Reform Pages - Birth Parent Search

These are the PREMIER adoption search websites which will teach you step by step how to search.

Good luck to you!

Contact the agency that your adoptive parents went through & see if they can help you connect or get more information including a picture.

I think your adoptive parents would understand your need to seek this out. It's no reflection on their parenting of you, just that there's a lost part of you that you're wanting to reconnect.

Register at isrr.net. It's the first place all the support groups tell people to register with.

Then see if Croatia has a registry.

Then join some online groups. There are many. TheRegistry is a yahoo group. So is SoaringAngels. They will tell you about other groups, too.

I just found out four months ago that I was adopted, so I'm new at searching, but there's a lot of help out there.

You say you know where she is from. Go to the county or city and look up her birth record. It will tell you her parents names. If you find her parents, you might find her. Besides, your Grandparents might still be living and you might find cousins and half brothers and sisters.
Next, look for marriage records. You may have been born out of wedlock. She may have married AFTER you were born.

sorry you can't talk to your adoptive parents about this, i was the same way. Contact me, i'll try and help you!! theres alot of international adoptee sites online... i was a domestic adoption so my searching process was different....... the least I can do is direct you to someone else.... lets see.... definately register with www.isrr.net they are the worlds largest reunion registry! if I can find something else, i will come back and post or you can contact me

www.adopteerights.net thats my site!

for the record, if you don't feel comfortable talking about it with them yet, you don't have to, its not their business and you don't need their permission to search. its about YOU, make it about YOU, and do what feels best for YOU.

Is your birth mother in the US? If you have a name and dob she should be easy to find.. I do it on a daily basis as I am an adoption search angel. I highly suggest getting with an Adoption Search Angel or perhaps join my adoption search and support group...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SoaringAngels/
many many search angels who are willing to help you for free.

first of all dont offend your parents by doing this on our own talk to your praents and ask them if they would help you find the information about her and tell them your resaon why you want to do this

Contact the adoption agency. I always think it's a less than good idea to get in touch with someone as a surprise in the case of adoption. The agency can likely get in touch with her and ask if she is interested.

If you're over 18, you don't need their permission to start a search through the agency you were adopted from. But do talk to them about it anyway before you start a search. Better to do it that way than to spring it on them after the fact. We have adopted three children, and when they're old enough, if they want more information than we already have, I'll help them look. I'm their mother. I've always told them they didn't come from my tummy, but came from my heart. Nothing can ever change that fact.

contact an adoption attorney. They have networks and resources that may be helpful.

google her name and date of birth. or go to yahoo!yellow pages. you have to pay for it, but it's worth it.
good luck....and you should tell your parents.

Bella Italiana
Can you go under a people search?? Maybe you should be honest with your parents. Tell them you love them and are so grateful for them, but you are just curious about your real mom. Maybe they will help you. Sometimes the adoption agency can help. Best of Luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!
