How do you know who's reporting your questions?

I'm seeing accusations being thrown around about certain people reporting questions. Am I missing something because I've never been told who's reporting my questions and I'd like to know how others know?

There is really no way of knowing who reports a post. Anyone who states s/he actually KNOWS who has reported is only surmising.

I don't know. I can suspect all I want, but can't prove anything. Of course, getting an email from someone telling me they have reported my answer or question is pretty compelling evidence.

I know of no way to tell. Ideally, it would make no difference, because the referees would trash the garbage violation reports. But unfortunately the referee system is a worthless piece of sh-t, and the trolls are running the show. The situation is now totally out of hand, and I decided it was time to write to top management to complain. You can too; the address is:

You can't find out and they don't know. Anyone that is putting the blame on someone is just assuming they reported them.

Adopted Jane
No one knows except yahoo, and they should see and put checks and balances in place that if its one same old same old reporting the same person that they look into the reasons why
Often it is purely because someone has a different view which is petty and childish

But I think that Yahoo need to really read the answers or Questions before sending the violation notices out because half the time they are flawed and have to be reinstated !

I don't know and frankly, I don't care. Report me. Big whoop.

They dont know.

I dont think you can which would make since because many people wouldnt do it if the person they reported could find out.

Noah's Mommy & Marine Wife.
You don't know. Yahoo does not give you this information. People are just making assumptions as to who is reporting their questions/answers.

Santa's Lil' Helper
My suggestion is if you think you were falsely reported then your should challenge it.....EVERY TIME! I was reported twice and challenge it both times and the violations were removed because they were unfounded.

I really hoped everyone had gotten past this juvenile behavior.....there is a difference between differing opinion and not following the TOS.

Mommyof2
I don't know but I wrote to YA and asked them to look at who reported me and see who else was reported by them. I'd like to see something done to prevent these people from being able to report anything that doesn't match their opinion.

If I had to guess based on the way yahoo answers writes its policy about reliability of the person doing the reporting and the amount of reporting drama that is in this category, that it is indeed multiple people doing the reporting. I know that I answer about a small fraction of questions only in this section, but that I read each question almost daily. I admit to being a rant reporter. Oh noes! Anyone choosing to blame me for that can also blame me for being a thumbs downer too. ;oP

IDK!!
Other than the person who admitted to doing it, I have no idea, I'd like to know though.

As far as I know, you can't find out who reported you. For me, I "assumed" (I'll admit, probably unfairly) earlier this week that one of two people reported me because I had not received a violation notice in a very long time. I removed my "blocks" so that everyone could answer my questions, and the next day, I received more than 10 violations. Like I said, it was too weird for me....I removed two people from my blocking and then all of a sudden all of these violation notices came through (even though its been almost a year since I received a notice). I just felt it was too coincidental for me. But I have no way to prove it, so "oh well". : )

I know which "side" "they" are on, that's for **** sure. I can tell by the influx in thumbs up or down I recieve in the day or two before I post the answer... and sometimes I know specifically who when they email me about how unimpressed they are with me. People say that "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" don't matter, but I beg to differ- people here use it a lot to show their approval or disapproval of OPINIONS every day.
