How does my husband go about adopting my son in Canada?

I have been married for a few years now and my husband and I really want him to adopt my son. My sons birth father has only seen him twice in his six years and owes me over 7000 in child support. He did NOT show up to the hospital to sign the birth certificate either so he isnt on it.
Not to sure on how to go about with the adoption process?

The lawyer can certainly explain the process to you once he/she gets the full story. Depending upon your situation and the situation of the birth father there are a number of different steps that have to be taken and its hard to give you a complete picture here.
If he owes you child support though, there is obviously a record somewhere that says he's the father and he will need to sign away his rights before an adoption could take place. |
