Your not. You are going to have to learn to cope with it. I don't suggest drugs or alcohol only because I tried them to numb the pain and it was a temporary remedy that caused me even more grief.
Join a good support group to get you through the really hard times.
My heart goes out to you.
Been there
RPM forgive you? FORGIVE YOU?? Not a chance. You have drawn some conclusion to a situstion when you have no facts. No I will not forgive you. Are you just looking for points? |

do you have to give her up? you don't have to do it, if you think that you'll be able to raise her than by all means do it. I know you'd be hurting the family that is going to be adopting her, but they are well aware of the odds that the mother might decide to keep the child once it is born. I think you might need to talk to someone about it |

You do it like others have before you. In a completely changed way from who you were before. You take small steps of caring for yourself and reclaiming your life out of the shock and denial. You grieve. You get real angry. You think you reach that point of understanding and then you cycle through all of the previous emotions again because it was more shock and denial. And then pretty soon you realize that some years have gone by and to everyone else it looks like life moved on. But you and every other mother who relinquished knows better. It's not moving on, it's living with how you have changed.
And seriously, if there is any chance you can rise to the challenge of parenting and not relinquishing, than do it. |

You won't. I suggest that you move heaven and earth to keep your daughter with you, |

If you have any doubts at all about placing your daughter, then don't do it!
If you do go ahead with placing your daughter for adoption, get grief counseling. It isn't something you "get over," but it can be lived with.
But if you are at all ambivalent about it, you should keep her. |

I am assuming that you mean you are putting your child up for adoption.
As someone who is adopted I can say you have the choice - I didn't. That said the person who put me up for adoption made the right choice and if you are doing it for the right reasons then you take the positives by knowing that you are giving them the best possible start in life. That is what you take with you and how you move on with your life.
Good luck - although I dont know i think it must be a tough call |

Like most mothers that have lost their children to adoption. You live in grief until their 18th birthday and pray you both find each other again. |

Make sure you have an open adoption. But first you have to make sure that is what you want, and what the adoptive parents want. It is still a commitment. If you decide to keep in contact with the child, you have to stick with it. Just because the child lives with someone else, you will always be their Mother. It will get easier, especially if you are involved. But be very selective, with the family that you choose. Make sure you are both on the same page. Good Luck. |

You are going to cry alot. You will have sleepless nights wondering if you did the right thing and wondering why you did it. Could anything have been done differently. You will have a life of pain and then hopefully one day, you will be reunited. |

Try to keep in contact with your daughter, somehow. Be a positive influence in her life. |

Are you giving her up for adoption? I was just asking. I gave up a son for adoption 4 years ago and it is an open adoption. Thats what I would suggest, if you have the choice. Doesnt make it any easier but it makes it easier to cope.
Feel free to contact me. Good luck! |
