How many children can a single adopt?
Find answers to your legal question.

How many children can a single adopt?

How many children will the court allow a single parent to adopt? I have been thinking about this alot of the future, but I was wondering if any judge would ever allow a single parent to adopt more than two children, especially special needs/hard to place children?
Additional Details
Financial status is not a problem for me, and I am not implying that a special needs child would be placed with less considerations.

I am more curious as to if anyone would allow a single parent of a disabled child to adopt more than one other child. ( Not including sibling groups)

I have a friend who is a single father with three adopted sons.

I think it is based on your financial situation and home life.

It really all depends on your financial status, if you own your own home and make good money to be able to support 3-4 kids then there isn't a limit. But for the normal single parent that isnt the case, especially when you take child care in consideration. They don't look at special/hard to place children as anything less than a normal child.
In fact for children with special needs you have to accomodate them and show the judge you can afford to keep up with them. Again it all has to do with your finanical status
