How much does adoption cost?

I just read that is 100.000$ no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well I live in europe, so prices are lower here. I want to adopt, cause the world population is big enough and many children dont have homes. otherwise this world will be overcrowded, if we keep reproducing. why does adoption costs so much? who gets this money? is there a cheaper way? I can afford, but I rather spend the money for a childs future. is it cheaper if I adopt a kid that is like 8 years old that needs a better home? I'm studying psychology as a hobby, especially about children and maybe it wont be a big problem for me to explain why are they in a new home or where are their biological parents.

We did an international adoption. After it was all over, it cost about $7,000. We could have done it cheaper.

I know a couple who bought their baby for $30K in the US. Yes, I said "bought" her - a healthy white newborn. The prenatal care and birth was paid for by Medicaid and the agency pocketed the money. It's a business.

Here is the USA, if you adopt from the "State" in which you live, meaning the foster care system, there is normally, no cost. And in most states, they pay you a monthly "check" to help raise the child, and complete medical coverage.
Check with your gov't and see if they offer such services.

It depends at least in the US adopting from foster care is very low cost to sometimes no cost at all.

Adopting from an agency or private adoption can cost a person several grand probably at least 20 often times more then that. There are different factors if the PAP are going to be paying for the PBM medical costs and other things. People involved in the adoption Social workers, Agency, attorneys get a fee.

International adoption is also so costly and again the fees depend on what country your adopting from. If you adopt international you often have to go and reside in the country for a time it can be from a several days or even up to over a month, depending on the country. Sometimes you might have to go twice to the country you’re adopting from, your 2nd trip is when you’d bring your child home. One would have to pay to get there and back, lodging and food. Often the agency your working with has a hotel that all their adoptive parents stay at but you would still have to pay the fee.

Some international adoptions can cost as much as $30,000 (total). I'm not sure about dometic adoptions... I know they're much less.

Thumbs down: Sorry it's true.

I don't know what the cost is to adopt a child. I would imagine that you could contact a social services office and they could help you with the process for adopting a child within our area for cheaper than it would be with an adoption agency.

This is what you need to do. Foster the child. The government will pay you to do so! Then eventually you will be given the option to adopt the child. It works out quite nicely. Think of it as leasing a car. If you like the car, you have the option to buy it at the end of the lease, for a discounted price. If you don't like it, just get another one! The best part is that you'll be receiving money just for fostering, so it's a win - win situation no matter what, with a build in return policy!
