How to adopt a special needs baby?

I know it costs a lot to adopt a child in the US but is it easier and or cost less to adopt say a downs baby or or special needs?
Any tips?

If you want a BABY baby, then become a foster parent. You can foster to adopt. You'll have to accept that the child could very well go home to his/her parents, but that's pretty much your only chance at a special needs BABY. Hey, if it's meant to happen, it will happen...and it's free. And if it's not meant to happen...well, then you can have the knowledge that you helped out a child in need, and that a family was able to stay together partly because of your help.
ETA: Oh, and you can adopt older kids from foster care, too. Some are under a year old. We went to committee a month or so ago for an 11 month old. |
