Google blogs written by adult adoptees that were adopted from overseas - and you'll see that so many have a very hard life having to lose their culture, their language, their essence - not to mention their family ties - all because rich western people want a baby to complete them!!!
There are thousands of kids available for adoption right in your own country - that need a loving home.
They are the kids that need you help - and it's extremely low cost.
If you want to help children overseas - go and live there - and help them there.
Don't take them out of their country. |

Much of it depends upon the country you wish to adopt from. Some countries, like India, insist that you use agencies licenced to operate in conjunction with Indian agencies. Call around to the different agencies in your area and find out which, if any, countries they may deal with and you can start from there. |

The best place to start is the website www.informedadoptions.com. They have lots of information on international adoption and they also have a forum for parents that you could ask more specific questions. |

I adopted from China 6 years ago. While the program has changed a lot and has a very long wait time, there are many other countries that have great programs. Russia, Ethiopia, Brazil, India among others. Usually cost is between $15,000-$25,000, but remember that there is a $10,000 tax credit upon the return with your child. Do an internet search on international adoption and research that way! Good Luck! |
