dont think about adoption, first of all talk to someone you trust about it. Go to a teacher (teachers are usually trained in dealing with cases where children are abused, they will do what is necessary to help as they will have the contacts), a relative a friend's mom or dad or ring your local social welfare department, you will likely find their contact details in the phonebook or online. What will happen is you will need to make a statement about what your mom is doing. Depending on what is causing it, how it is effecting you and so on, they may decide to either talk to her about it and discuss strategies and support so that she can stop these abusive patturns. THis means you might be able to stay in your home with the support of other people. However, if they believe that you are in grave harm or there is no way to help you mom they may put you in temporary care of either a family member or a foster family. You might then be given to a family to foster perminantly, but then it depends if there are families out there looking.

THe most important thing is to tell someone what is going on. If the first person you tell doesn't help, go to someone else until you find the support you need. For now, if you feel like you can't stand it any longer, you might like to stay at a friends house or a relatives. I would talk to someone soon, maybe at school or ring social welfare.

Good Luck

oh i do like the camera idea the person above mentioned but only do it if you know if she finds out she won't get even more mad at you. I guess you could just say you forgot to turn it off. You could also somehow get someone to witness it, whether it be a friend, a neighbour or another relative. In fact even a tape recorder would do if you want to be more subtle because they will be able to hear the abuse.

call the police or if u dont wanna go to the office at school and tell ur counselor or tell a family member to pick u up

you cant put yourself up for adoption. your parents have to sign off. unless you are put into care by the state, in which you would have to call child protective services. but i will warn you, there are MANY children who get abused in foster homes as well while they are looking for a real home. not all though. blessings

red robin
tell the police

Look in the phone book or on-line for the contact number for Child protective services (also called Department of Protective & Regulatory Services)! You should know that by doing so your mom will most likely be contacted by a CPS investagator. If your mom is able to convince the CPS worker that she is not abusing or neglecting you it will be her word against yours and more then likely they will not remove you from the home. If they do remove you they will either place you with suitable relatives or in a foster home or a group home. I am a foster mother and I can tell you not all foster homes are as bad as you hear. There are a lot of loving people out there that really want to help kids like you. There are some homes that are not as nice, but if you have any problems in a foster home all you have to do is report them to your case worker and they can move you! If you are nice and respectful in most homes you are going to be just fine!
Please be safe and take care of yourself, try to stay calm and don't push her buttons while you wait for whoever you ask for help to intervine.
God Bless you!

Please go to a teacher or school counselor. They will then call Child Protective Services. When CPS speaks with you be completely honest about what is going on. It is really important that you get out of this situation AND that your mom gets the help she needs. You do not need to put up with this.

You can get yourself taken into care by telling somebody you trust like a teacher what is happening to you and that you don't want to live there anymore. They should call the relevant authorities that will move you out of home. If you are a teenager it is unlikely that you will be adopted (unless there is a family member that will take you in like your grandparents) but you should be able to be put in long-term foster care with a family.

You need to talk to child protective services. You can start by talking to a teacher or guidance counselor. They are mandatory reporters meaning they have to report ALL cases of abuse and neglect of children. Social workers will get involved. Generally they will try to give your mom services (anger management classes, parenting classes...) so that your family can stay together. If they feel you are in danger they will put you in foster care for some time. If your mom can't resolve her issues they will terminate her rights and make you eligible for adoption.

If you are old enough to ask this question, you are also old enough to talk to your teachers, the police, or social services in your county. Please talk to someone and get some help for yourself. You shouldn't have to deal with being treated like that.
