If you knew the real reason why Adoption agency's charge you Aps thousands of dollars to find kids for you was simply about "your desperation".
They know you're so desperate that they will take you for as much as they can and do.
Do you think that just maybe they charge you so much is because they know what they are doing to children is wrong & criminal but are willing to make a deal with the devil if the "price is right".
Would that be anything to be Proud of?

They can never say their desperation was taken advantage of, it's a willful choice to throw all common sense, objectivity and discernment out the window. No one forces them to pay the fees to get what they want.
And, for the person who compared paying fees to going to the hospital and having a baby, try not paying adoption fees and you'll walk away without a baby. As for birth certificates, every baby gets one that has to be filed and paid for, but only adopted babies get an additional falsified one that is also pay for. |

Unfortunately, in some cases you're right. There are many unethical agencies that scam would-be adopting couples out of their money & self-worth. |

I see no reason why anyone other then the agency involved should feel proud or shameful over such situation. No more proud or ashamed then anyone who asks inflammatory and/or baseless questions on YA should feel over their question actually. |

It's outrageous that it costs so much to adopt a child. There needs to be more government regulations so that adoption isn't limited to the rich.
And it's not "wrong and criminal" to adopt children or put children up for adoption. Maybe you did have a horrible adoption experience but recognize that not all adoptees agree with you. I'm an adult adoptee and I absolutely love my life and my family. I have never felt abandoned or 'traumatized' by being adopted. I totally respect your opinions about adoption but I feel you should work through some of your obvious anger with your past. Perhaps counseling would help. Please recognize that you can't speak for any adoptee other than yourself and know that many adoptees are very happy with being adopted. |

Did you know that going to the hospital and having a baby cost money too? Even if you had say a home birth, you would still have to go to the court house and pay a fee to get a birth certificate. |

Agencies use lawyers and that's where the major expense comes in. Lawyers charge a lot for everything and generally, if someone goes to lawyer, they most likely feel as if they are in a desperate situation. People don't HAVE to go to lawyers (agencies) if they don't want to. I think people who go that route are pretty aware of their own desperation... |
