I would call the agency tomorrow and ask about the extra check. I received three checks in one envelope and of course it was an error. Don't cash it before you check. |

No, however, do not cash or spend it. The government has so many auditors and it might be a year before they catch it, but they will, and for that month, you'd get nothing. Overpayments by the government are common, because it is humans operating the machines that type in the amounts, however, other humans catch the process, and many an elderly person's check who was temporarily overpaid gets cut to nothing just about. It happens at all levels of government. |
