Never be a people pleaser. Do your homework and choose for yourself and the baby, by yourself. If you do decide to go through with it, don't tell anyone except close friends/family. Believe me my dear, people will judge you.

You should care how your child will feel...and how the child you already have will feel. Do you have any idea how the thought that his mother gave his sibling away to strangers will affect him? He will be devastated, and will be in fear of you.

You dont have to do this. there are resources available to you. Most women who surrender a child to adoption NEVER recover...and sites such as "birthmom buds" are funded by adoption agencies.

I am pregnant, in college and planning on putting my baby up for adoption. I am simply not in a position to take care of a baby right now, and my personal morals will not allow me to abort. Some people have said terrible things to me, some people have been very supportive. In the end, it's between you, your baby and God.

As a mother I beg you to keep your child. There's help if you need it, don't be scared. Being a mother is tough but the best thing in the world.

No. You should care about what your CHILD will say when he's told he was adopted. Funny that one of the other posters wrote that she wishes "nothing but happiness" for your family because that is exactly what will be missing from your life if you surrender your child to adoption. Happiness.

Your son is the important one and it will be how he feels that you should be worrying about, nobody else.

As a mother, I want my child to have the best chance at happiness possible, and if that meant giving her up because I wasn't able to give her all of me, then that's what I would do. A child needs a parent who is happy to have them, and not only willing, but THRILLED to provide all the necessary care, and attention the child requires. If you can't do that for your child, then giving him up for adoption is the most loving thing you can do for him, and a wonderful gift, not only forthe adoptive parents who want to love him, but also for him.
YOU are the one carrying him, YOU are the one who will be responsible for his love and care after he's born, YOU make the decision, and to Heck with anyone else but his birth-dad. And even then, he only gets to choose whether or not HE wants to raise his son himself. However, I do strongly believe that the Dad needs to be informed and given that choice too, after all it's his child too, and he might be the best option himself.

You do what's best for your child, and what's best for you, too, and the heck with what anyone else says about it, just be strong and do what you gotta do.

Good luck!... ☺

If your doing what you think is best for the child, then no you should not care.

Wow, adoption can be a wonderful gift. Don't care what other people think, YOU know if you are ready for another child. No one else but you knows that. If your son feels anything but gratitude that you recognized that the situation wasn't a positive one to bring another child into then you can't control that. I honestly don't think that will be the case though. I'm sure he will love you and look up to you for making the right decision. Some of these people on here are seriously psychotic. You won't be missing out on happiness if you choose adoption. If you're truly not ready for another baby then it is responsible to look at your options, it's irresponsible and selfish to keep a baby that you can't provide for just because it will make YOU happy. (I mean this in general, not just towards you). Anyone on here who makes you feel like adoption isn't a perfectly good choice has some mental issues they need to deal with. Good luck in whatever you choose, just make sure that you and your heart is okay with the decision that you come to.

I could never give up my child, but if you know that your child isn't safe with you then you have to what is right by your child. You should care what others say and I guess that's why you have asked this question

You should NEVER let other people's opinions change your mind, or let other people help make your decision. This is a huge decision and it should be what you think is best for yourself andyour son. To place a child for adoption is a very difficult thing to do, and I respect you for considering it. If you're not ready for another child, that means you won't be able to give him the life he deserves and you may not be happy. If you want advice, you should see an adoption counselor, or talk with someone who is unbiased in the situation. Maybe talk to other birthmothers and women considering adoption. www.birthmombuds.com is a great site for birthmoms only and women considering adoption. Good luck and I wish you the best. =]

You have to do what you feel is best for you and your son. People like you give people like me and my husband a chance to adopt a child.

It's braver and the right thing for you to do for you, your other children, and this child if you are not ready and neither is the other parent. I wish nothing but happiness for all of you, whatever your choice is.
