I was adopted in December of 1992 in las vegas. I'm 16 and I really want to know my real parents names. I can't do any of the online pay things and I really would like some help in the matter. I asked one of my teachers and she said that she could not help me. Any Help would be great. Thanks

Please be very very careful with this. It is best if you talk to your parents and get them on board. They will have a better idea of where to start looking (the agency they went through, etc) and may already know some information.
Why I said to be careful is there are a lot of crazy people out there who pray on those who are vulnerable and searching for something. Knowing your age and that you really want to find your birth parents there are those out there that may prey on you and will tell you anything you want to hear. Do not meet anyone in person unless you have your parents with you and they are certain the individuals are your birth parents. I hate to sound paranoid but there are awful people out there who cannot be trusted.
Edit: Seriously people? You are going to give me thumbs down for telling a 16 year old child to be careful of child predators on the internet?? I'm not saying to not look for her biological parents but to BE CAREFUL of liars on the internet and such who might try to take advantage of her. You are all very naive if you think its completely safe. Just disgusting! |

It's so cruel that we can't even know who created us. Once you turn 18 there are many registries you can join and also apply for information from the State.
I'm so sorry you have to wait, but it's not long away now.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to know the truth off your own origins and facts of your own life. Please don't let the naysayers put you off - they know nothing about the situation and there are alot of sour grapes out there.
People tried to tell me not to look and said some real hurtful things, but I persevered and found a wonderful family who was overjoyed that I'd found them despite the sourpusses trying to block the path between us.
In Nevada, a mutual consent registry is operated by the state welfare division of the Department of Human Services for adult adoptees (age 18) and birth parent(s).

It is the best for you to wait till you are 18, then go check orphanages in Las Vegas, there must be some documents about your adoption, or ask your parents? They probably know.... If you ask me, I wouldnt check for them, why would I when they left me? |
