I need help with some adoption questions! ( I'm the one adopted)?

So i don't know anything about my parents, where i lived, who i really am, or any thing about me. When i was younger i used to stay up and cry and wish i knew my parents, i would pray and ask all the gods of all cultures to help me find my parents. but the only thing that i know about me is that i arrived to the orphanage when i was almost a year old. so what does that mean? did they want me? was it some kind of accident that i was adopted? I just want to know that. what do you think? also i was very well feed (I was a really cubby)

I know a lot of children end up in orphanages in China because of the laws there. I'm sure you were wanted, especially if you were a year old before you arrived there - it sounds like maybe your birth parents did all they could to keep you.
Don't give up hope finding your original parents, would your adoptive parents maybe help you? If not, wait until you are grown, and then use the internet to see what you can find.

And just to throw in - I am the biological mother of seven, the adoptive mother of three. ALL my children are the light of my life, I can't imagine life without them. I know they will have questions and hurt - my little adopted daughter already does, because she remembers her birth mother (mine were adopted from foster care). Reading posts like yours make me determined to help my children all I can. Two of my children - siblings - have an open adoption, one does not.

Is there any way you could contact the orphanage, or do a search for your adoptive files?

I understand this is a complex process to go through, so perhaps it would help if you told your adoptive parents - in fact, that is what I recommend. Include them. They may not be receptive at first but you need to tell them you love them and that this is about something YOU want.

Contact the orphanage. Search for any adoption file info you have. Communicate with anyone who may know something.

Perhaps they couldnt afford to pay the license fee for having a child. Or the fine for having more than one child.

Perhaps you were stolen. Who knows what happened. You could probably get alot more information than you currently have from the facilitator of the adoption.

I hope you get answers, nobody should be left in the dark like that.

What country are you in? If you're in the UK I might be able to answer your question better.

Thanks for answering and sorry I can't offer good suggestions so good luck and I hope you do get answers that will help.

It's likely that your parents did want you, considering you were almost a year old before arriving at the orphanage. My guess is that your parents couldn't keep you for legal reasons (such as already having an older child and not being able to pay the fine for having a second) or something.

Is it possible for you to contact the orphanage you were in? From there, you can try and find out who your parents were.

Good luck!

You are who you are. You are an american that was born in China. Yuo have your interests and your likes same as anyone else. You want to know who your bio parents are. Start by asking your parents what orphange you came from and if they can help you find out about your other parents. Just dont say "my real parents". Most parents hate that. Ask them to help find your bio parents because you want to know who would have been your parents if you didnt go to the orpanage.

See if you can contact your orphanage, also, ask your adoptive parents if they know anything.

Also, it is very hard to say what led your parents to leave you at an orphanage. They might not have had the means to care for you and wanted you to have a better life.

Im sure that your adoptive parents, while not your biological ones, still love you very much.
