I recently found out my husband is adopted..how can he found out more about his adoption?

My husband found out he is recently adopted how can he find more information about his adoption. None of his relatives aren't saying anything so they are no help.

It's horrible when adoptees find out late in life.
Hope he's doing OK. He's not alone. Sadly many adoptive parents choose to not tell - mostly for there own personal reasons - but it's the worst thing anyone can do - to keep someone's truth from them.
It hurts.
Here's a link to a web site set up by a late discovery adoptee - you'll find loads of info there -
http://www.latediscovery.org/

As far as birth details - that will completely depend on what state he was born in. Sadly - in the US - many states have sealed records - no matter the adoptee's age.
Here's is the list of places to start the search.

First - add your details to the registries here
http://www.isrr.net/
http://registry.adoption.com/
(a registry requires both parties to place info - and then a match can be found)

Check for information on your state records here -
http://adopteerights.net/nulliusfilius/?page_id=39

Check here for search help - and links to search angels -
http://www.adoptioncrossroads.org/

And check here for any support - it's the best online forum for adoptees I've found -
http://www.adultadoptees.org/

All the very best with the search.

The previous answer is a great one ! I agree....

The best place to start is his birth place. Contact the Department of Children and Families to start, they may be able to help. If it was a private adoption, then it may be more difficult as there are a lot of agencies around.

It would be easier if he had some kind of information about his birth parents, i.e. whether he was adopted through an agency or the state. either way, the state and/or county should have some type of paperwork for the adoption as they all require legal documents to make it final.
