My ex does not pay child support, and now that he doesn't have a car, i have to take the kids and pick them up to see him. I dont know how or what I ca do to take legal action. Is there any way to have my husband adopt my children?

Take the ex to court to terminate his parental rights. Unless you have a lot of evidence to support you, "fat chance." Sorry.

Another question is why he doesn't pay to support his own kids. He should.

Check with an attorney or Legal Aid to see if there are any other options.
