I want to be a single mom. I dont want to be in a relationship. I am moving out soon. I have saved up money. What are your ideas on adopting a newborn?

Dear SF,
Please make sure that YOUR situation is settled and you have fully educated yourself about adoption before you attempt to bring a child into your life. I urge you to look into adopting from foster care after you have become a bit more prepared. Considering your particular situation, I am not sure newborn adoption is the thing for you. Good luck and I hope you will stick around here and learn as much as you can in the meantime. I do hope that when and if the time is ever right, that a child who really needs you is able to find you and that your future is bright and healthy! |

I don't think you are going to have an easy time of it. You will need to be old enough (most likely 30+), stable in your career, able to both work AND look after a newborn (they won't like it if you have to use daycare and such), and you will need to be financially stable. Not to mention you will have to wait quite a while AND be prepared to pay big bucks for a newborn.
Tall order for sure especially considering the situation you say that you yourself are in. |

Here's an even better idea- take the money you have saved up, go to Ikea and buy a couch. Or, have your own. You just said you are mentally challenged. I also think you're a troll. |

I would look for a local adoption agency and start from there, or if you want to adopt from the foster care system, give your local foster care system a call. |

Well i do know to adopt a child, legally, you have to go though a rigorous background check, and well, the Gladney center near me charges $30,000 , so, if you have that kind of money saved up, why not invitro or a surrogate? There are [plenty of kids out there, so , good luck. |
