I want to adopt one more!

I have 5 girls. My husband and I were looking at an adoption website and we saw a 3 year old girl. Both of us feel in love and want her terribly. We went to work. Now my husband is 2nd guessing the entire adoption. He thinks he is happy with the 5 we have. Opinions?

Do I ingore it? Is it common for men to have 2nd thoughts?

My mom has a huge heart, she would of continued to adopt if it was not for my father. She may not of totally agreed with his point of view, but he told her that for every child they adopt, something will be taken away from the children they have, whether it was attention, time, support, etc. Maybe your husband has realized that 5 children is exactly what he wants to be able to have enough, time, devotion and money to support.

I think it would be common to have 2nd thoughts.

I would listen to him. He might be seeing something you aren't.

Its not about what you want its about what the child needs.

Well, you can't adopt or foster if all parties aren't on board.

I will say that usually the children listed on adoption websites are there for a reason...they're harder to place because of more serious issues than the average foster child...so just make sure you do your homework and make sure you can meet her needs.

It's common for anyone to have second thoughts...I call it stage fright...but it should go away and be fine.

This definitely not something to be taken lightly and maybe your husband feel 5 is enough or maybe he just has cold feet and needs to give it more thought! However always a possibility he may change his mind!

I would sit down and go over everything with him the pros and cons of another child and get his whole feelings on this, talking it all out is the best for a situation like this! Hope every works out!
Cheers!

I say go for it! She needs a family with loving parents and big sisters to look out for her. If you feel that you are not financially ready for another child, then no, but if you are then why wait?

I normally ignore my husband but in this case, i think you need to talk it out... Because you wont be the only one adopting the kid. You want him to be that father, dont you? So of course you should talk it out....

I normally offer my husband BJs for a month to get what i want.. lol Works every time lol!

Seriously though... You cant do it without him... That child will need Both of you
