Your getting alot of un friendly answers and in a way I see why. Their saying it sounds like your ordering a child. But what people don't understand is that your taking a child out of the system that could use a home. But there are also wonderful children that are older that would love to have a family to love so think about this real hard.

Adoption is all about the needs of the child, right

'He/She should be [enter specification here]. . . . . ' sounds as though you are placing an order at the local take-away joint

This kind of question is distasteful and insulting to adopted people

While I agree that children do need to be carefully matched with families that are compatable, your qualifications seem very arbitrary. I can understand parents who don't think they're capable of raising a handicapped child, or a child of a different race because those types of adoptions to take even more effort than normal adoptions. I can understand parents who would prefer certain age ranges because they feel they would be better able to care for the child in that situation. I admire parents who go out of their way to adopt older children, or those with handicaps that they think they can provide the best homes for. Those are reasonable considerations.

However, requiring the child to "grow as your own child" is just plain silly! Either you will do a good job as a parent, in which case the child will be more than happy to claim you as their parent, or you won't (and thus shouldn't be adopting to begin with.) Why do you care where the child is FROM? You're not buying a car, it doesn't matter if the child was manufactured in detroit or baltimore!

You really need to reconsider your reasons for adopting. If this is a serious want, and not a whim then talk to a lawyer or adoption agency - not Yahoo Answers.

While I appreciate wanting to raise a child as your own, if I was in charge of the adoptions, I would, like person above me, have serious reservations about your reasons for adopting and would question your specifications. Why Pune?

You can adopt a child from Anath Ashram from your own city or you can contact any nursing homes where some of the unblessed children will be available and make them your own by making adoption procedures and grow up as you wish and they will be called as your children.

Visit orphanage or NGO dealing in this context. Or you may adopt a child from poor family who are unable to rear that properly.
