Very few adoptions are finalised per year in Australia - as they are more about family preservation - and as for O/S adoptions - they are very particular about whether the children are being stolen or exploited for money purposes first.
All adoptions in Australia are carried out through each State government.
Google 'adoption' and 'foster care' and 'your state gov (ie NSW Gov)' to bring up the links you need.
There is a very serious need for foster carers in Australia. Sometimes this can lead to adoption. These are the kids that really need people to love and care for them.
Above all else - adoption in Australia is about the child's needs - first and foremost - not the adult's desires. |

I'm from Australia too but I'm ony 17, I definately want to adopt once I'm older from overseas.
I have tried to look into it over the net but didn't have much luck :(
I just noticed that noone had answered your question and I really hate it when that happens.
You may be able to call someone about it? Some sort of Child Services..
Good Luck I'm sure someone will be able to help you out! |
