Adopted children are special because they have been through a lot of crap to get a forever family. One that loves them even though the parents aren't biological.

Birth children are special for a variety of reasons. They are special because they are formed with the love of mom & dad; because the parents thought they couldn't have a child and did; because they are your child. Isn't that enough?

Every child is special in his/her own right. Whether biological, adopted, step or 1/2. All deserve a family and love.

Not Adopted
Ha, no adoptees in my family - me and all my sibs (and parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, the who lot of us) were definitely unplanned non-adoptees, so I guess by definition we are unlucky and not very special! Bummer.

Oh well, at least we weren't aborted.

Unlucky since they were not chosen. They should be grateful that they are not told regularly how lucky/special/grateful they should feel.

Sorry, but I have a bad attitude today.

They are lucky/special, too, for - after getting to know the kid - the parents don't put them up for adoption later.

I'M lucky. He's just special, but not because he's adopted.

All natural.

Adoptees have synthetic luck, with preservatives.

Non-adoptees can be a variety of things, planned, a miracle, unplanned, but a gift, etc.

I could go on and on.

Every child is special weather they were adopted or not. And just like adoptees if they have good parents then they are lucky too. And many non adoptees weren't planned pregnancies. Sounds like you want to stir the pot so to speak.

I was told all the time to be grateful for the things my parents provided for us by relatives when growing up... (Even if it was dinner on the table.) and I'm not adopted. I just look at it as the attitudes of the previous generations, I don't say that continually to my kids.

Kids that grow up with their biological families just have a different set of issues that arise when growing up to adults.
