If my sister got denied adopting a baby in the family...?

Could she appeal it in probate court? How long does this whole process take for kinship adoption? I really hope this works out for her. She would be a great mom to a baby...

If you are talking about a baby who is in foster care then she needs to appeal today or as soon as possible following the decision. If this is a foster placement they may have found another family member or feel that your sister isn't the best placement not only because of her home study but for a variety of other reasons the state may have concerns.

The only reliable way to get information is with an attorney and the people who are handling the case.

First... why was she denied? Perhaps it was the right decision.

If you feel the decision was indeed wrong, consult with a family attorney. They will be able to review the case tell her the best course of action. It might be possible to have the CPS supervisor review the case, or perhaps go before a judge, or otherwise appeal.

if it was denied by a court it can be appealed to a court. only one court cannot be appealed....the supreme court.

its a fight though, and if the original court ruled for a decent reason, she cannot keep arguing the reason, she needs to argue the process, or the constitutionality of the reason.
