If so, how many?
I am just curious whether there is a correlation between adoption and number of children had later in life. If anyone has any articles/studies on this, I would enjoy reading them. Thanks. Additional Details (I met an adult adoptee the other day with seven children; I usually only see families of that size at my synagogue, especially in Florida, but I digress.)

I was adopted and when my wife and I married we planned to have some children eventually and perhaps one day adopt. We found ourselves living overseas with an opportunity to adopt so we did. We then had a child of our own and were planning on having more however we learned we could not have any more (and shouldn't have been able to have the one we did have) so we stopped there. Two years ago we learned of our local Foster to Adopt program and went back into the process. Now we have another adopted child and we are eventually hoping to have one more to round things out at 4 children total, 3 adopted and 1 natural. |

I have 2 good friends who were adopted. One was adopted as a newborn in a closed adoption. She has 2 daughters. My other friend was adopted out of the foster care system when she was 12. She knows her biological parents and they are still alive, but not in her life any longer. She has 2 sons and a daughter. We also know a couple who adopted 3 children out of foster care. Their daughter is married now and just had twins, a boy and a girl, and hope to have more children. |

Jewish people aren't the only ones that have lots of children, lol. You should check out the Catholics and Mormons. ;) *No offense meant! I'm Catholic.*
I don't think there is any significance. My husband was adopted as a baby and we are in the process of adopting our first child. He's never had any children with anyone else or with me. We decided adoption was better....for the child involved and for us. :) |

i have 2 bio kids and 3 step that i am raising full time.
but my first child was when i was barely 18 and the second was when i was 30. big gap between my bios.
but to be honest-i never really wanted more than one. i was content with having my daughter. my hubby came along and brought his 3 and then we 'got a surprise' and had our son together.
i dont regret having more, but i would have been content with just my daughter. |

Not yet, but we are planning on having kids. Ideal: two biological, at least one adopted. As an adoptee I feel a sense of social responsibility to pay forward the fortune I experienced. |

One of my good friend's husband is adopted. They have 3 bio children and want more. They are military and constantly moving. Their kids are home schooled and they say that since they won't be able to have many friends due to moving and homeschooling, they at least want to give their kids a big family! I don't think they consider adoption as an option. He wants nothing to do with his bio family. He says the only family he has is his adoptive family! |
