My husband is from Kosovo. We already have 3 children of our own, but we also want to help a child from his country. I am very confused, I have tried to do some research, but none of the agencies seem ligit. Can someone please give me an estimated $ amount for an international adoption. Kosovo has very different rules from most other countries. Since he is a citizen of Kosovo, the embassy told me that he is a favorable candidate. I still am not sure if the cost I have been told is accurate or which(if any) agency to use. Help!?

I don't know about Kosovo, but most likely you would need to work through an agency in the US that has a relationship with Kosovo. The agency is required to do the homestudy required for any adoption. Also they should know what paperwork is required for Kosovo and for US immigration - it is generally a lot of paperwork. Usually international adoption is expensive. Probably $12,000 at the lower end, up to $20,000 or more.
