Is 16 too old to be adopted?
Find answers to your legal question.

Is 16 too old to be adopted?

if someone would be willing to?

PLEASE HELP ME!

No it is not too old and in fact where i live there is a program to encourage people to adopt teens from foster care. So any teen can be adopted. However, most people who adopt want newborns to raise "as their very own" (which is why they cost so much) so you may have some searching to do to find prospective adoptive parents. It can be done though.

No, 16 is not too old. You can still be legally adopted.

You could be an adult and still be adopted.

no b/c they have lived in the offange to long and they need a caring family thats what i am planning on doing when i have the money and everything adopting older girls :D

ILY Amber Louise! Lost my job!
no its not. You would be brought into a new family and even when your 80, youll be family. Dont ask people to adopt you. Talk to an adoption agency. You wanna be adopted? why?

No, but at that age, it might be better to just age out of the system. The state would pay for your education and help you get set up in your own home.
I do know of at least one 16 yo who was adopted. She and her two siblings stayed with my parents (who are foster parents) until the adoption was final.

No, not too old. If someone who is qualified to adopt you wants to adopt you and you are in agreement, not a problem.

As others have said, it's still possible, since the teen is not yet of adult age.

The family and the teenager would need to agree on the adoption, but it's best to have an adoption lawyer draw up the papers so everything is done right and there are no problems later on.

Anyone of any age can be leagaly adopted.
