Is There an Adoptee Support Section on Yahoo Answers?

I can't find a search and support area for Adoptees. It would be great to have a section for adoptees so they can voice their feelings without being shot-down by (mostly well-meaning)misunderstandings
Additional Details
No Weeme, I disagree

I only know of support groups within Yahoo Groups.
(I belong to the groups 'Siblings Lost and Found', '4 Adoptees Only' & 'Adoptees Reunited' - although I haven't visited them for a long time. If you search for key words such as 'Adoptee' under Yahoo groups you may find more)

I have tried many support groups on the internet - and I still visit quite a few. By far the most helpful and caring that I have found for adoptees is at -
http://www.adultadoptees.org/forum/index.php
It's set up by adoptees for adoptees. (quite unique in the adoption forum on-line world!)

There are also MSN support groups - again search around with key words.

All the best.

No. This is a Q&A format. The kind of support you are looking for is best found in a chat room.

No, because this isn't a "support forum." This is a place for people to come get questions answered. Though it has turned into a huge soapbox, which is entirely against the guidelines.

feel free to email me if you want. dont know if i can help, but maybe...

There are adoptee support areas on Yahoo GROUPS. In fact, I'm sure there are several. This is a question/answer forum, not a support system.

I agree with Elle_Dee. This has gotten out of control here, when people can't even acknowledge that people have different opinions without calling them names.

YA is not meant to be some group therapy or public chat room. Its for questions and answers. Sometimes I see too much ranting going on in YA or sacrstic answers and I’m not just taking about the adoption section. If an adoptee is in that much need of support there are other forum boards available for them. In fact there are some people here who could name some as Possum did. Adoption.com even has a forum board for adult adoptees.

I often thought that it would be nice if the adoption category could be broken down into sub-categories so that people could post their question in the area where they want responses - whether it be from adoptees, bio parents, or adoptive parents. People who have questions about reunion may want to ask their question only to adoptees. People who are having trouble with adoption reform or coerced adoptions may want to ask their questions only to birth parents. And people trying to conceive (TTC) may only want to hear from adoptive parents.

In a perfect world, it would be really nice to have that option for everyone, but if they did it for us, then they'd have to do it for all the categories and that would probably just get ugly.

Pretty much this whole section is adoptee support isn't it? As long as you have the correct feelings about being adopted of course......
