A lot of these war torn areas were contaminated by depleted uranium, which killed many unborn children and caused numerous birth defects.
If you're serious about this, you should take a trip to these areas and ensure that you truly have the child's best interest at heart.
I'm sure that these wars have created many orphans--there will be no shortage of kids to adopt. |

I cannot say for absolutely sure...but I think adoption of Arab children is not allowed by 'foreigners'. Many of the Arab countries are of the Muslim faith and I don't believe their religion allows their Arab/Muslim children to be adopted outside of their faith. I tried doing a Google search..but didn't find a whole lot. I did find in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that adoption was not allowed.
""Could a visiting American adopt a UAE orphan?""
""Adopting is not allowed in UAE since that it is not permitted in Islam, you can help raise a child and make him/her live in your house..etc , but you cannot change the name of the father and make yourself the father .. Like for example in the west if you want to adopt you give the child your name, this is not allowed in Islam , the child should keep the father's name . Now if the father is not known, then we call him lets say Mohammah ABDALLAH , the fathers name should be a name combined with Allah. So adopting is a bit different from the west. Anyway adopting is not allowed in UAE.""

From what I understand, the Muslim faith considers it taboo to allow adoptions of children at all, let alone non-Muslim homes. |

No. These countries do not have international adoption programs. Most countries that are under Islamic law do not. |

No, it is not possible. No agencies have programs with these countries, and these countries do not have programs for their children to be adopted internationally. There may be a few cases a year of relative adoption to the U.S. from these countries, but non relative international adoption is generally not allowed by these countries. |

I hope it's not possible to treat these children like spoils of war, but chances are good it is. |

If your intention is to save a child, don't do it. No one wants to live the rest of their life with the burden of being grateful to someone self righteous who 'saved' them.
Honestly, you said "My husband and I really want a child".
Well, it shouldn't be about what you want. It should be about the child's needs. You're an adult, so you realize that you can't always have what you want. |

I don't believe they have adoption open, for Canada anyway. I believe you have to have signed the Treaty (for Children) at Hague (I forget where, I think Hague) where people discussed rights of children. I know countries that did not sign on are not possible to adopt from.
Why not look at local foster care, as I am sure they have many children of diverse backgrounds in need of a family. |

Doubt it but I hope you are willing to convert to Islam.
The only adoption I've read about was a US military soldier that brought a child over here that had suffered severe injuries by the US military. He begged to adopt him because the child's parents were murdered in the incident. |

This makes me sick.
Obviously, you have done no research into adoption or religion because Muslims do NOT allow adoption into non-Muslim homes...
And into the US...bahahahahaha....comon? We are at war with some very strong Muslim nations and many Muslims from that area hate the US. Get real.
But, besides this.....Why do you want to adopt from there?
Are you Muslim? Do you know ANYTHING about the Muslim faith?
From your question, I assume NO.
The Muslim faith governs people's entire life, the behaviors, etc. It is far more interweaved into lifestyles than other western religions. You want to remove that from an infant. Are you kidding me? READ
There are many children in the US where I assume you live, that REALLY NEED HOMES and you would not be stripping them of their faith and culture?
This question is absolutely ridiculous. You want the infant, irregardless of what that means to the baby. |

It is not possible for a U.S. citizen to adopt from those countries. But believe me, if you and your husband want to adopt a child from overseas, there are so many children in need of loving homes in other countries. |

During my tour in Afghanistan in 2007 one of the things we did was support an orphanage in Kandahar City (along with a school for the blind as well). I did not see anything of this but I was told that there were two children recently adopted to Canada and about a half dozen in the process of being adopted to the US and UK. I don't know the process but it was being done at least. |

I don't really know of any charities other than the Edhi Foundation from Pakistan http://www.edhifoundation.com maybe they can help you out.
Be wary of sending money though, it has a tendency to "disappear". |
