Is there any adoption poems?

i am very young, and found out i was pregnant. i am about 20 weeks pregnant, and i have decided to give the baby a life and give him to a family that would love it. my church wanted me to read an adoption poem, and give it to my child, and let him read it when hes a little older. is there any website or author that has touching adoption poems?

please and thank you.
and please, no rude comments.
Additional Details
i love my child, and i can be a good mother. i just want my child to have a mother and a father. i still have to go to school. i was adopted myself, and i am very thankful. so shut your mouth about how adoption is a wrong choice.

No rude comments, just some poetry (as asked for)I had run across before. I also wanted to add that there are some books that are designed for a mother relinquishing to share information, thoughts, feelings, medical history, pictures, etc. for their child. I wish you well in whatever path you chose.

So many wrong decisions in my past, I'm not quite sure
If I can ever hope to trust my judgement anymore.
But lately I've been thinking,
Cause it's all I've had to do.
And in my heart I feel that I
Should give this child to you.
And maybe, you could tell your baby,
When you love him so, that he's been loved before, By someone, who delivered your son,
From God's arms, to my arms, to yours.

If you choose to tell him,
If he wants to know,
How the one who gave him life
Could bear to let him go.
Just tell him there were sleepless nights,
I prayed and paced the floors,
And knew the only peace I'd find,
Was if this child was yours.

And maybe, you could tell your baby,
When you love him so, that he's been loved before,
By someone, who delivered your son,
From God's arms, to my arms, to yours.

This may not be the answer,
For another girl like me.
But I'm not on a soapbox,
Saying how we all should be.
I'm just trusting in my feelings,
And I'm trusting God above,
And I'm trusting you can give this baby
Both his mothers' love.
And maybe, you could tell your baby,
When you love him so, that he's been loved before,
By someone, who delivered your son,
From God's arms, to my arms, to yours.

(This poem was based on the writings of a young birth mother, whom she shared with songwriter Michael McClean. It has been set to music and comes with a 100% guarantee that no one who has been involved with adoption in any way will make it all the way through with dry eyes! )

A mother's love is a wonderful love packaged from heaven with special care.

A mother's love is like no other love in which you can compare.

A mother's love is purified by Angels and flows directly form her soul.

A mother's love is justified by God and by his hands he created the mold.

This mold that was shaped and fashioned by God has endured the test of time.

This mold that was taped and recorded by women rang out like a heavenly chime.

A mother's love is unconditional, and from her heart this can be told.

A mother's love is nutritional; it is the fruit that feeds our soul.

A mother's love 'IS' true love, and from her heart she can not lie.

A mother's love is eternal, the kind that wont ever die.

A mother's love is the tie that binds, and her bond can never be broken.

A mother's love is branded in our hearts, even when her words aren't spoken...

Before your lungs could breathe

and your eyes could see,

your little feet

were walking all over me.

Before you could crawl,

and even talk,

your little toes

took a walk.

They took a journey,

went far and wide.

They traveled to my soul

where they now reside.

With every second that passes

they make another move.

With every day that ends

they dig another groove.

No matter how long or how far

we might be apart,

your tiny little footprints

are all over my heart.

Sorry you aren't in an environment where you can be a mother to your child. The likelihood of your child ever knowing about you or seeing your poem is minimal. I hope you have come to this with the realization that you and your baby will suffer with this decision for the rest of your lives.
They said I was too young
to be anyone's mother
They never asked me
what I wanted to do

They said my baby should have
a mother and a father
They never gave me a choice
to help me see it through

They said the line
on my belly would disappear
They never mentioned
the wound in my heart

They said go on with your life
and pretend it didn't happen
They never told me I would grieve
all the years we're apart

They said I should be happy
now that I'm free
They never admit my flesh and blood
has been amputated from me

They said I could get married and
other children would call me mother
They never said one person
does not replace another

They said why worry
she has a good life
They never listen to how
the pain of not knowing
cuts just like a knife

I am also an adoptee and a birth mother. I also love my child. I also gave him away. I also feel the pain 22 years later of making that choice. I still, in my heart, believe it was the correct way to go...I was being beat up by a boyfriend and on drugs (not the hard ones..lol...that came 2 years later) .

I moved on, got married had a baby. My life is good and I'm happy and I know things are good with him BUT research. don't take the first option given to you. Read all the books you'll find here in this forum. EDUCATE YOURSELF. please

My son doesn't call me mommy. No one does

Yes there are many poems about adoption and it does help to write down what you want.I have written a few myself and,as I have been doubly affected by being both an adoptee and a relinquishing mother you might be interested in seeing them.If you would like to just write me a message through answers and I will reply to you personally.

Legacy of an Adopted Child
Once there were two women who never knew each other.
One you do not remember, the other you call mother.
Two different lives, shaped to make your one...
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun.
The first gave you life and the second taught you to live it.
The first gave you a need for love, and the second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name.
One gave you a seed of talent, the other gave you an aim.
One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears.
One gave you up ... that's all she could do.
The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you.
And now you ask me, through your fears,
the age old question unanswered throughout the years...
Heredity or environment, which are you the product of?
Neither, my darling neither.
Just two different kinds of love.

if you want to here more of them my email me @ Marydreamchild@aol.com

I give you hugs for giving up your child to a family that could love and give your child what maybe you can't at this time. My husband and I are in the process of looking into adoption and know that it can be tough on both sides. My husband was adopted and loves and appreciates everything his birth and adoptive parents did. I hope you are able to find a loving family to raise your little one.

I think the poem is a great idea. I have 2 adopted children and would have cherished anything from the birth parents. I know my children would have too. My children were adopted from foster care so there is nothing except some pictures we took. I haven't seen a poem like you were asking for but I think the letter in your own words is a great idea too.

I think you should write something out in your own words. Your child will appreciate that more than reading someone else's words.

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life.
But those who make their journey home across time & miles,
growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them,
are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us
by God's very own hands.
