Hang in there this has happened to us with two of our foster/adopt kiddos. You know how states are with their paper work and red tape. The end is in sight. Best of luck. |

Sorry, I'm confused. Are you talking about the Foster/Adoption agency that is driving you crazy, with paperwork requirements and such? Is that it?
If it is, then all I can tell you is to hang in there. It probably has nothing to do with you. Probably it is just the way the bureaucracy works -- inefficiently. Also, though sometimes it may not seem like it, those requirements were enacted to protect the children -- children who have already lost so much in their young lives. So as frustrating as it can be, it is a good thing that there are many requirements for adoptive parents.
And God doesn't work that way, in my opinion. I'm pretty sure he didn't arrange the bureaucracy!
Hang in there! |

Well it is not if God wants you to have the kids, it is the legal system. The God or Creator can only do so much, and we have to work with patience. I do not believe everythign happens for a reason, but I believe at times these events must take time. In the scheme of all that is wrong wiht child welfare, long adoptions yes is a problem, but in an underfunded system where they deal with abuses every day and are usually reactive not proactive, sometimes adoptions take longer than they should. But better we wait a bit longer until the children are legally "ours" than a child go without food or get abused. Just my perspective, but I can tell you that when it happens, it makes all that time waiting, wolrking, forms etc. go away and happiness and work comes underway! |

I'm not quite sure what you are getting at but it sounds like you have a couple of foster children that you hope to adopt but there are always delays in the process? Does that about capture it?
I can well imagine that delays are frustrating from your perspective but you have to remember that for things to work out well then the process has to play out. If corners are cut just to get things done then that is where, naturally, the parents or the courts have reason to step in and revisit things. If the system plays out, frustrating or not, and at the end of the day you are able to adopt any/all of these children then you can at least rest assured that there is minimal groups for appeal or for revisiting the placement in the future. |

Hi Dawn
You don't make this a clear question, but having given you my opinion previously,I think (hope) I understand what you are trying to say.
I feel so strongly for you and the situation you are in.
I hope I understand!
Can you tell me what has happened?
I'm sure that you have been wonderful foster parents...
I know you hoped to adopt..
What has happened, why are you not able to do so?
Please can you explain?
Your friend (if you want me).. |

Don't lose faith my friend! Look at it as God brought your family together because even though they were "born" to another he knew they were meant to be your children. Your hearts have all found their rightful home and this is just Gods way of making sure its all legal now so later no one can come along and try to disrupt your family by a missing signature or lost document. It is very frustrating but keep in mind while the waiting is terrible you will all have the rest of your lives to love eachother and never have to look back!
I wish you all the best and you are in my thoughts! |

I lack the great drive many women have to have or adopt children. I miscarried early on, after my marriage and accepted the fact that I would rather devote my life to my work than to taking care of children, husbands, or anyone else, for that matter! I think that if my child had been carried into life, I'd see her/him as an impediment now, because my work requires such attention being given to it. And to it I have an addictive obsession, So I must not be a woman who is marriage nor child oriented. I am satisfied with the way things have turned out. Sorry, but I would not know how it'd feel to want children or even a husband around me. Maybe that is miserly of me, but my work has satisfyingly substituted what many women seem to more traditionally want out of life.
I like solitude, work, and quiet, above all! |

Whats the rush?. Take comfort in the time you do have and be grateful that your not on the other end trying to get them back from the state with everything stacked against you.
Here's to hoping the kids are with grandma today. |
