I'm looking for my birth mom her name is Dawn Marie Hardesty I've heard she was last in the LA or TX region. I was born in June of 84 any info would be helpful.
Additional Details
Hardesty is her maiden name, it was private adoption not idea what her age was at the time.

go to the county where your adoption was finalized. find the birth/death certificate dept. tell them you want to apply to the adoption registry. bring your birth cert with you.
you will fill out forms and they send them into a data base and they match your info along with the number at the top of your birth cert (this follows you, even if the adoption is closed, the number you have now is the same number as the one she signed when you were born).
it may take some time, but that is how i found my birthmother. if she hasnt applied to the registry, then you may have to do more digging.

write to them online and place your ad there. Contact all the larger newspapers in TX and LA. Someone is bound to know your mom.

I am also adopted and located my birth mother last year. It is difficult because she may have been married and changed her last name so a PI might be necessary for you. These can get expensive. there are also mutual consent boards all over the internet that you can put your information out there. I wish you lots of luck and that you are well received when you find her. |
