Your house sounds like alot of fun right now. I'm being serious. My kids were 13 months apart. I know that is not near as close as yours....but I can somewhat understand the "going all over the place" scenario.

I spent the first two years of motherhood with dried oatmeal on my pants and my hair in a sticky ponytail. = )

If I have ANY advice to you at all, it is this, have fun with the kids. Instead of working against them, play WITH them. You could spend all day trying to clean up after them....OR....you could spend all day enjoying them. What did you become a mom for in the first place? To wear yourself out or to enjoy their smiles and laughter?

Put up some gates like the others have already suggested. Then get in there and watch them play. You may find that you can just sit and watch. They will probably just like having you in the room. Take a portable phone with you so you can answer calls, and a notebook or journal so you can write cute things in it as they do and say adorable stuff.

You'll never get these months back. And since they are adopted, the history you write down for them, may just be the only history they ever have.

Enjoy and Have Fun Mom!

put up baby gates so they are corraled and your sanity is saved. If you can't put up baby gates try to keep them in one room with you by closing the door and finding things to occupy them so they are not trying to run every which way while you are tryin to figure out which one to grab first. It can be rough tryin to keep an eye on more than one child no matter what the age is...just also make sure there is nothing the little ones can get a hold of that might hurt them and I think you'll be fine. Good Luck

Sometimes kids need a little assistance learning how to play and get along....mine are 23 months apart, there older now, but whe they were young Id get my work done at night after they were in bed so that i could spend more time playing, reading and just plaain spending time with them.................
When one is napping spend some time with the child who isnt. It helps to give them each a bit of time alone with you in order for them to not be so jealous of each other.

We have answered many of your strange questions here. I suggest you get support and counseling. You really need to join a group of mothers in your area. Call your local YMCA/YWCA, pediatrician, churches, Parents Anonymous, or adoption agencies -- PLEASE, for your sake. For your children's sakes.

You're going through a rough time. I remember when mine were little & it was super hard to keep an eye on them all.

Try to do things that will capture their interest. Get them involved in playing games or with toys.

The 9 month old & 11 month old should be able to be put in a playpen or something if you need to run to the potty. The one who is 2 should be able to be trained to not get into things or escape -- it will take time and patience.

Consider maybe paying a high schooler or someone to help you keep an eye on the kids during off-school-hours...even if it's only a couple of times a week, it could take some of the stress out of your life.

My advice about marriage is don't marry someone you don't LOVE and can't imagine growing old with...definitely not someone you don't know super well...and not someone who you have to ask if you should marry on Yahoo Answers. ;-)

I hope it all goes well. Keep in mind that this is a season & you'll get through it with time. My kiddos drove me to the edge sometimes when they were little, now four of the five are teens & I wouldn't choose to change any of them.

That's what child gates are for. My twins were walking at 9 and 10 months and I often gated them into their room to play. I also was a firm believer in the use of harnesses. They were so little it was hard to hold their hands, anyway, and the harnesses gave all three of us more freedom while keeping them safe.
