My cousin is pregnant?
Find answers to your legal question.

My cousin is pregnant?

If she goes to an adoption agency, will they help her out with expenses and stuff if she says she wants to put the baby up for adoption?
She doesn't want to, but isn't it true that adoption agencies will pay out on the expenses for the baby and her if they think she'll put the baby for adoption?
And what should I tell her because I don't think that's right.
Additional Details
and also I don't think it's right that she wants to use welfare and stuff like this because she only got pregnant because now she doesn't want to work she wants to quit her job and stay at home. What can i say to her?

To be honest I have read your recent questions and while they are starting to sound bogus to me I will answer this one.

Adoption is not a joke, it is not something to be taken lightly! There are thousands of children in our country alone waiting hoping and praying each and every day for a family, just like there are thousands of couples suffering trying to have children and can't. So if your cousin thinks that an adoption agency is a free hand out she has another thing coming.

No, adoption agencies do not pay your expenses. They help place children of parents who can not care for them for what ever reason with a loving family who can. Your cousin needs to grow up and realize that she is not going to be able to use this baby to get a free ride. States have much stricter welfare and state aid laws than they used to. In order to recieve assistance you have to prove that you are actively seaching for employment and they will send you for job interviews.

Honestly it sounds like your cousin cares more for the free money that she thinks a baby will bring her than actually trying to do whatever she can to care for her unborn child and better her life before the child comes into it. I would STRONGLY recommend that your cousin seek counseling for this issue and if free money is all a baby means to her then I think she should seriously consider placing the baby up for adoption because she will not be able to provide the child with a loving and stable home that they deserve.

well it seems to me your cousin probably NEEDS to give that baby up for adoption....if she is so irresponsible that she just doesn't feel like working how the heck is she supposed to care for a baby...taking care of a baby is even harder then working a reg. 9-5 job a baby is all day everyday!! and trying to scam money off people using your own baby makes me sick...she really needs to talk to someone...and adoption agencies most of the time dont pay for your child a child its not a pet and you know how bad you would hurt a loving family wanting to care for that child and at the last minute say no? you guys are acting like this baby is something to play with wow....people amaze me i dont know why god gives some people miracles such as babys and they dont appreciate it.

I think that is a horrible idea! I guess it would depend on what adoption agency she went to but I don't think they normally cover any of that. If she does not have insurance, they most likely would set her up with medical assistance to cover her prenatal care and the birth but they are not going to cover costs for housing, food, etc. It sounds like the baby would be better off if she really did put it up for adoption so it could learn some morals rather than how to scam the system!

They will sue her for the money to be returned and she will have to pay it back. It is all in the contract. I hope the state takes her kid away. Someone like that does not need one.

PS they can also sue her for the legal expenses the couple pays to the attorney, which means she will have to pay back more than she got. Real smart of her. God help her kid.

Phoenix
Tell her she's thoughtless and mean. If she needs money for the baby, surely there are other places to look besides scamming adoptive parents.
The poor baby. Bet he or she will be so pleased when Mummy tells him or her "oh yeah I scammed a few people who were desperate for a child for money so I could buy stuff for you."

opedial
I won't say whether your cousin should put her baby up for adoption but to scam an adoption agency would also be scamming an adoptive mother and that is not cool. Seek out other community resources to help her out without lying.

Your cousin seems like the worst kind of scumbag. Preying on people who are desperate for a child for their money is the worst kind of person, and she deserves a special spot in hell for that.

kazposter
adoption agencies will pay expenses but it sounds to me that your cousin is only interested in the money, there is a child involved here. I strongly recommend that she talk to an adoption agency like independent adoption agency at 1-800-877-6736 or on the web at www.adoptonhelp.org/birthmother.html They will help with and answer all your and your cousins questions

That is just plain wrong

adoption agencies don't pay out money but the people adopting the baby will if she needs it but she has to sign papers giving up her rights. I'm pretty sure if she did that they would make her pay it back not only that but she sounds really messed up she's going to use a couple who wants to adopt a kid gets there hopes up and then try to scam them and keep the baby what a piece of work that girl is!!! Oh and she can only be on welfare for 5 years and they will make her do a whole bunch of classes and go get applications everyday, and if she doesn't then they will cut her check for her self and her food stamps so she'll problably only get 3-400 dollars tell her if she can live on that a month please give me a call..

no adoption agencies will not take any huge risk. rather they will help her also.

mscrawdad
It is called "fraud" and she can go to prison where she will lose all rights to the baby anyway. It doesn't sound like she's smart enough to pull this off. She is exactly the type of person that should not be allowed to procreate! The best thing for her baby would be the court terminating her rights to the child prior to her giving birth.

Report her. If you are afraid of all of the family drama, do it anonomously. But, to save your own soul, report her.

Edit to Stardazzle:

OMG! That is hilarious! However, you know that you are propogating that illusion that adoptive parents will do anything to get a baby including buying one! And in this case it sounds like you'd be buying one from someone who is brain damaged! But it was funny. We need to lighten it up in here sometimes!

Give up the scam. The only one that is getting scamed is the tax payers. Adoption agencies are out for money and the adoption couples get tax breaks. The Birth father's have no rights and the birth mother's are latter down the line called tramp's and worthless. Adoption's need to be reformed for sure. I think that the money that the couples give to the adoption agency should go for the medical bills. Why do you think doctors don't want to take medicaid. It doesn't pay enough for there fee's but the adoption couple get's 10 thousand in tax breaks and could have only payed 4 thousand for the baby.
Selling baby's like you are talking about is against the law. And she could go to jail if she is caught in this scam and she should.

she wont get any money.

Also, im unaware that people get paid in UK. I think thats illegal; but maybe not where u are from.

Just a quick question. Where is your cuz from and how old is she? Is she pregnant at the moment, how far? Her emotions are prob all over the place.

She may be v confused and worried about the future.

Also, when she has this baby. Her mentally and views will change (hopefully-as mine did) and she will want to be a decent parent.

If shes on benefits/ dole money or whatever, she should use the opportunity to STUDY something even if its homestudy. When her lil' one is here she won't want to stay on her ***. It will drive her mad.

Explain how good it will be for her to be a success, like to study to get qualified to hold down a job to make herself proud and to provide what she wants. She can then have childcare and have time 4 herself 2.

Love.

Someone will pay for the baby one way or other. I am happy to pay for the baby through my taxes and my donations. There are plenty of people she can talk to for help. I think she needs to go to a church.

There is nothing wrong with her not working, but she needs to get married so the kid can have a father and she can have a husband. Life with out a father or husband is bad and should be avoided. Your right we shouldn't pay for it, and she shouldn't tell people she wants to put it up for adoption just to keep it.

Tell her to find a good man, and get married.
