We adopted two children and I have an older biological son.
One thing you have to prepare yourself for is that there is going to be an adjustment period for your entire family. You, your new sister and your parents all have to figure out how you are going to function together as a family. This takes some time. And everyone in the family is going to react to it differently.
Something to keep in mind. Even though you will be getting used to having a new younger sister, the girl will be getting used to having an entire new home and family. She will be trying to figure out how she fits in.
Expect her to get a lot of attention at first. She will need it. But if you are feeling sad or feeling upset, please talk to your parents about your feelings.
Best of luck to you. |

i question your parents' "parenting skills" if they approve of you chatting on line with adults. |

Dont worry, you'll still be the favorite. She will get a lot of attention, though. She will probably steal all your stuff, cut your Barbie dolls hair and toss your computer out the window. Get a lock for your daughter's room. I mean your room. |

At first it will seem like she's getting all the attention.
Don't worry, she's just getting settled, and everyone wants to get to know her.
If you want some time with your parents, make sure they know. Say, "I need to talk to you, right now."
If you don't speak up, they don't know what you want or need.
Being big sister is great!
You get to play with her, teach her things, and share secrets!
It'll be fun, don't worry. |
