Well the child is not yours so you really don't have no say, and if the mother of the child doesn't have a problem with it then niether should you. |

its sooooo sweet of you to take care of another mans child that way and i applaud you for that but the main thing is ur not the father. although you maybe a great provider you cant take the place of the man who helped give the child life. Not saying that you are second to him just that is a difference. Keeping the father away from the child is selfish, you should let the child have a chance to form his/her own opinion and relationship with the father. it maybe tough but its the right thing to do. remember you will always be special to the child also just in a different way |

this sounds like a new relationship and if it is , you should be cautious, you can help, but also let the father know that you want him to be "DAD" , (unless of course hes not safe to be around), let him know that this situation occurs almost all the time, you are helping yr gf , but in no means , whatsoever can be the father. this helps alot when you say this man to man. |

he would have to take mom to court and request visitation... he wouldnt get full custody unless he can proove mom to be unfit...
If dad wants to be a part of his baby's life, you should be ok with it and not stand in the way... you are still a part of the babies life, but you cant be dad, you can only be step dad...the baby has a right to have a relationship with both biological parents especailly if dad wants to be there. |
