My husband and I are looking into adoption, does anyone have suggestions, too much info on the internet.?

We have spent a lot of money and time towards having a child of our own and have been unsuccessful. We now want to go through with a domestic adoption. Do they all run about 30-35,000? We do not want to foster-adopt.

What agency do you suggest?

If that is your budget you will be matched soon. Most people don't have that kind of money laying around and agencies like to give kids to the highest bidder.
Most adoptions for healthy white babies are $16,000-$25,000. African American adoptions are $9,000-$17,000. Prices go lower for high risk pregnancys or special needs children.
Right or wrong, there is the answer to your question. I have lots more info if you want to Email me privately I will be happy to explain everything involved and all your options.

Good luck and best wishes. Its getting a little more difficult internationally because of the criminal/unethical facilitation of baby brokering. I you do go international have a DNA test done on the babies parents because alot of illegal stuff is going on and make sure they are truly giving up the child permanently. In Guatemala a facilitator and his family was recently killed by a small village of 200 for deceiving women there and now many Mayans are fighting with the gov't because they want the babies back from the US parents.

Network with friends and family and church to see if anyone you know is needing to place a child for adoption. I did this, and have a beautiful 9 months old this week son. The costs were less than $1000.00 to adopt him.

I personally don't like agencies, because they've been known to strong arm mothers into adopting out their children, and don't care about the end result except their money. Sometimes though, it is necessary to use one to be matched with a mother. Be wary of internet scammers. They have a way of worming and trying to convince you there is a child when there really isn't. See if your state has an adoption program. Many states allow adoption of babies without having to foster. They will be about a year old due to the time it takes to sever parental rights. That can be free to do. You always have the right to turn down a child. The possibility of getting a newborn is slim, but it does exist. Quite frankly, there is a lot of information on the internet, and by reading it, you can save time, trouble, and heartache, and you'll need to know most of the information out there in order to be successful at adoption. Good luck!

Look into open Adoption. There is one in Pleasant Hill California. It will take about a year to be selected by one of the birth Mothers. The cost for the attorney is under $5,000. Also the birth of the baby is often covered under the birth Mother's.health insurance. Most expenses for adoption are tax deductible. Check with your tax consultant Good luck drj

I would say around $20,000 is more common. We were in CA our daugther was born in GA, and the adoption cost about $17,000 once I add up everything (homestudy, out reach, paperwork for two states, post placement visits....). Our agency was fee for service , so we paid as we used each service vs writing one big check.

We also spent a small fortune on unsuccessful treatments. But once we moved on to adoption things went relatively quickly for us. It was only 11 mo from the day we seriously started looking into adoption to the day our daughter was born. I hope you'll be lucky too.
