my sister said when she placed her child...it was the pictures that helped her choose....she said the couple looked very happy (eyes don't lie)the people also had pictures of their home,family members....they also had pictures of any pets they had....go with your heart...write what you feel....don't listen to the ones who are against adoption...some are bad and yet some are good.....thumb me down people...but unless you walk a mile in a birthmothers shoes or even an AP shoes...then you have no clue on the emotional rollercoaster ride....and have no idea what a birthmother looks for... I speak from experience....and no hate mail...I won't respond....good luck to you and your wife :) |

www.Bethany.org They have an I'm pregnant pull down menu and under their you can look at family profiles. That should give you plenty of ideas of what others do. Most importantly you should be open and honest with your profile. |

www.adoption.com has an area that advises prospective parents on comments made by first moms. This way, you know what they want to see, such as your home, your pets, the way you and your wife look at each other. Even things like your Christmas day or something. They are trying to envision their child into your life is the main thing to remember. A picture of your buddies playing poker wouldn't be advised. Things like cigarettes, alcohol, etc, should be avoided. |

There is a great blog of a family who documented their entire journey through the adoption process.... They also have a place on the site where they'll answer any questions a person has... (they adopted3 children) The site is very insightful!!
