My question was deleted, but since I rarely am able to get anything reinstated, I thought I'd just post it again, for those of you who hadn't had the chance to reply yet.
I got this link in my email yesterday. It is NOT a solicitation, there is nothing being sold. It's just an interview. No different than links to newspaper articles or videos. This one just happens to be a recording of a phone interview.
Nancy Verrier is the author of the Primal Wound, and Heather Forbes is one of two authors of Beyond Consequences, Logic, and Control. Both books have similar messages (and this also is not a solicitation - most regulars on this board know about, and many have read, these books - I'm just explaining who these people are, not trying to sell anything).

I listened to it last night and had left an answer saying thanks for posting this. It is well worth listening to for everyone who is been involved with adoption but I think it would be especially important for those who are PAPs, APs and SWs to hear. N.V. is amazing!

Ugh.
Sorry, no disrespect, but Nancy Verrier is the Freud of the adoption world. Everyone with an agenda cites her work like it's their bible, but really, she's just a pop-psych author whose works caught on in a small niche of the adoption community, which now desperately clings to her philosophy and believes its hype.
If I still had my copy of the Primal Wound, I'd rip it up and use it to line the rabbit cage or light it on fire and roast marshmallows.
No opinion on Forbes, but I'd wager that if she's hanging around with Verrier, it's probably rubbish. |
