Okay im 14 && im clearly thinking about my future, and Adoption/Fostering is somehting on my mind, So..?

I'm a mature 14 year old girl and i realize that the days seem to be moving on quicker and quicker. So I'm basically planning out a simple route of my life, my education, career etc.

But over a month or so now, i've been thinking about Adoption/Fostering in years to come, because obviously im not the right age to and it will be a while away but its for I'men im a young women.

However i understand thataren'tarencommittedmited as they use to be [just from family exp, not my own lol] so i was wondering is it possible for a young single women to adopt/foster on her own, as long as there is a steady and well balanced income?

Or does there have to be two steady incomes?

I live in the UK and i am wanting to move to the USA, NY, or Seattle. And i know you may think im just a stupid kid, but i can assure you i am mature and understanding.

Im the type of kid who knows what she wants in life and go for it, i dont need to hang in gangs and cause trouble to have a good time.

Thanks in advance and any extra information will be much appreciated.

Just as single women can raise their biological children, so can adoptive mothers, but it's not easy. I would recommend that, if you're planning on raising children of any sort, you also plan on getting a higher education so that you can get higher salary jobs.
I admire that you want to be a mother who doesn't have to depend upon her spouse for everything, but I would also caution you from accepting that 'men aren't comited'. Some men aren't, but the right one will be, and allowing someone to have a free pass on immaturity because they happen to be male will probably lead to a lot of frustration & hurt.
I wish you luck in your life- you seem to already have a very good head on your shoulders.

Generally the age in the US for being a foster parent or adopting is 21. And yes, you can be a foster parent or adopt as a single woman/man as long as you can still meet all the other necessary requirements to be a foster parent/adoption parent.

Well I give you credit for thinking a little far ahead, BUT, first of all yes you can adoptfoster being single, as long as you "check out" BUT honey, first of all LIVE YOUR LIFE A LITTLE....you will discover all kinds of new things about yourself and others during your 20's, so I would suggest waiting until you know the time is right... good for you for thinking so far ahead, but you have no idea how difficult it is to raise a child. let alone in this world nowadays.. I have a 14 year old... its very very hard.. single mom... idiot ex... so you never know what life brings you even tho you may have good intentions.

Good for you to be planning your future!

Yes, a single woman can adopt a child. It may be more difficult for you though, because of financial reasons or if you have a demanding career.

The Wife
They would keep you in mind, but most times they would prefer a 2 parent home. These children are being taken from unstable places... to put them in what "society" sees as unstable wouldn't exactly be solving the problem. Though there are cases where they would consider you so it's not a "no way" situation.

your a kid or a cop either way enjoy life for what it is and it will happen when the times right

happy new year!
it is a good idea to adopt before you have then apopt after you have because if the to are fighting one will mention that they are adopted

Well I'm thirteen and I've ben thinking about adopting to. I'm planning 2 adopt any ways because i want to have a safe life. i mean ur still young so u still have time to think about this. I've planned my life that i d ont want 2 have a kid i want to do a sarahgiv where someone h as the baby for you. so i don't have 2 deal with all this stuff. well I'm pretty sure you can adopt early because sometimes they will see how you do with a child.
but you can do this on ur own.

amie
i think you are doing the right thing adopting it to some one it don't matter if they are just one of the parents but its better to adopt your child to 2 but i guess its up to you
