POINTS TO BEST ANSWER! In what states is it legal to adopt if you are a single parent?

I want to know where you can adopt a child if you are single. I know some states make it legal, and others don't make it legal. If you can tell me straight up, or give me a website article that tells me, that would be great. Thank you. Points awarded to best answer!

Ummm I don't think any state can not allow you to if you are single. I know for some foster kids they may recommend a 2 parent family (usually due to the childs high needs) but as far as I know there is no laws against single parent adopting. However the site www.nacac.org goes through it state by state for you.

the State of Wisconsin allows you too but different private agencies have the right to have their own rules.

I know that in arkansas you can adopt a baby if you are single, but I don't know of any others. I looked into it because my husband and i want to adopt at least one baby.
