Please help me.... please....?

I am in a state of shock. An attorney posted his phone number telling an earlier poster that he would help her because she was 7 weeks pregnant and wanted to give the baby up for adoption. Out of curiosity, I called to see what he would say. I told him I was 7 months pregnant, and he asked if I was the one from Y!A. That was posted a few days ago. I was calling about the one posted today. Long story short, I told him I lived in another state and he gave me the name of an attorney, the one who I had actually dealt with many years ago and had lied and double crossed me. The havoc this "man / attorney" reeked on my life is indescrible. At the time, I didn't know he was part of what is obvisouly a national network to find vulnerable women and prey upon them. Many years ago, I was told he was just some attorney who knew a couple that wanted to adopt. Like, it was a coincidence.

I am sick to my stomach. All the old wounds have been reopened. My head is spinning.

What can I do? Is what he did ethical?

The truth always prevails, this is amazing. I have goosebumps, I'm so sorry you're going through this and that this has happened, but at the same time I commend you for researching and investigating and exposing him. Post his name up on here, let the truth be known.

I will look into ethics of lawyers and see if I can find anything.

I have a feeling, this is legal. Not ethical, but totally legal. Its a touch into the business of providing babies for couples who want them and manipulating them out of the hands of perfectly capable of parenting mothers/fathers.

Could you contact me actually, and give me his name to put on my baby broker alert list.

I imagine it's legal, but how incredibly unethical. This man is truly a bottom feeder. I am so sorry for what you've been through.

His name is Steve Kirsh. I looked on his Website and he really does target his text to pregnant women in crisis.

jm1970, there's no reason to be rude. This lady is obviously very upset and is an active member here. Hence, she probably didn't think of anywhere else to turn at the moment. For an "adoption specialist" you sure don't seem to have much compassion for a first mother. If you have nothing kind to say to this woman, say nothing at all!

not really sure what to tell you but I do know that using the words "lawyer" and "ethical" in the same sentence goes as well as trying to mix oil & water, no matter how much you shake, they don't go together

I am going to tell you. Run from this person. I know who he is. When it comes to first mothers, he is the worst of the worst. Stay as far away from him as possible.

And no i do not think that attorneys soliciting for babies is LEGAL ! and even though he didn't actually start the post , he initiated contact trying to procur the unborn baby

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry that this happened to you. It is more and more obvious that adoption predators (agency workers and lawyers alike) are using public Internet sites to prey on vulnerable women. It is despicable. Please contact CUB to find some support.

And please ignore the heartless rudeness of jm1970. The answer just shows the loathing that adoption workers have for the very women who give up their precious children for them to sell so they can make a living.

Adoption is A-OK!

In NV, attorneys are not allowed to approach you -- you have to go to them;

however, in WI, if you get a speeding ticket, you will wind up with all kinds of mail from attorneys willing to represent you -- that wouldn't fly in NV.

All states have different laws -- contact the state bar association in the state he lives in. sorry to say this but leave the emotion out of it and state that he is presenting himself for services without be approached. It may get you somewhere but it depends on the state. Some won't allow attorneys to do the approaching and others will.

I would call a real adoption agency. Tell them the story and give them the number. They would probably be able to advise you as to who to call about this. Just make sure it is an adoption agency that is good and by the law on everything and not someone that might be connect to him in some sick way. Also did you reply to the persons post he replied to? If so or if you know her name or id maybe you can view it in her past posts or questions. Either way I would contact yahoo also about this matter with the phone number. Maybe they could have record of it or maybe let you know if they did pull it off. Sorry to hear this has opened old issues for you. That would just make me more determined to do what I could to get this stopped or brought to someones attention! Good luck! If you do know who he posted to you might want to also warn her of what you know about him. She may have called him too.

So are you pregnant or not?

If so, you should go through an agency, not some money grubbing attorney.

If you're not and you're concerned about old wounds, you shouldnt be getting into this.
